Pumpkin Juice Recipes for Harry Potter Fans

Pumpkin Juice

Have You Heard of Pumpkin Juice? What Is It?

Pumpkin juice is, as my son was quick to point out, juice made from a pumpkin. However, the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWOHP) in Orlando, Florida has taken the interest in this unusual beverage to new heights because pumpkin juice is one of the beverages you can purchase when you visit the theme park.

In Harry Potter's world this juice a cold drink that is served at any time to wizards and students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry . It is a juice that is consumed like orange juice is by muggles.

At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter you can buy attractively bottled juice (as shown here) that tastes, some say, like pumpkin pie cider. You can also buy a slightly different version of this drink called Pumpkin Fizz at Hogsmeade's The Three Broomsticks pub.

If, like me, you cannot make it to WWOHP, you can make your own version of this juice. I fully intend to try some pumpkin juice recipes at home. However, until I have the chance to test out some recipes you will find links here to some of the many recipes available online plus links to some pretty fantastic Harry Potter gift ideas, collectibles, books and movie pages.

Have you heard of pumpkin juice?

There are many types of pumpkin juice recipes available, you will certainly have your pick. There are recipes that really do seem like real pumpkin juice. I cannot imagine any juice more real than a recipe that starts with a real pumpkin. From there you will go to the other extreme with recipes that include mixes like iced tea. If neither one of those ideas appeals to you, you are bound to find a great recipe somewhere in the middle.

Have you ever had pumpkin juice? Do you like it? Will you be making it?

OUTFOXprevention1 on August 26, 2013:

Great pumpkin items!

Tom Christen from Switzerland/Ecuador on July 30, 2013:

What a great lens! Thank you for sharing!

anonymous on September 23, 2012:

My grandmother made pumpkin juice and butterbeer around christmas when I was little, more then 30 years ago. She had very old recipes from England. I still have both recipes and make them on special occasions. I never knew it was such a popular subject on the web.

compugraphd on August 27, 2012:

B"HMaybe I'll try it sometime.....

@anonymous: Thanks for taking the time to share!

anonymous on July 09, 2012:

This has always been my favorite recipe...and the only one I've tried that's anything like the pumpkin juice at Universal Islands of Adventure. recipe's at the bottom of the page.

BradKamer on April 18, 2012:

Sounds interesting. I would give it a try if it was diluted with apple cider. Straight up pumpkin would probably be a tad thick. Creative lens.

CruiseReady from East Central Florida on January 07, 2012:

I think I would really like to try this pumpkin juice... or maybe the pumpkin fizz drink.

anonymous on December 28, 2011:

I haven't heard of drinking pumpkin juice, but I bet I would like it. Can't see any reason why I could put pumpkin in the juices some time. Cool lens, Brenda! ~ Blessed!

katemiya on November 06, 2011:

Not sure if I would seek this out, but if someone offered me a glass of pumpkin juice, I doubt I would turn it away.

EMangl on August 17, 2011:

wonder how it will taste i figured out that i can switch between my real account and my page at FB, so i unliked you and liked you again :-)

kristymckeown on June 13, 2011:

hmm. ok i'm sold, I'll add a pumpkin juice recipe to my pile of "recipes-to-try". We are growing pumpkins in our garden so in a few months I'll have no excuse not to try it!

AbigailsCrafts LM on June 01, 2011:

Although I like pumpkin, I never thought pumpkin juice sounded very appealing in the books. I'd be tempted to try one of these recipes though!Great lens, thanks :)

Treasures By Brenda (author) from Canada on January 02, 2011:

@julieannbrady: Julie, the recipe we tried had quite a bit of apple juice in it so I would say that yes, it tasted somewhat like apple cider.

julieannbrady on December 29, 2010:

Pumpkin juice is a bit new to me and I might resist it at first, rather like acquiring a taste for Scotch, methinks. I personally love apple cider; does it taste anything like that???

Sheilamarie from British Columbia on September 24, 2010:

Well, I do like pumpkins. . . .I've never heard of pumpkin juice, but it sounds strangely interesting. I'll have to give it a try. I made pumpkin pickles once and sent some to my health food conscious son who thought it was embarrassingly weird. Imagine! Why can't his mother be more normal so he could dismiss her to his friends as boring?

lemonsqueezy lm on September 20, 2010:

I have never ahd it but I might need to buy some for my family. Nice to know that I can get some on ebay.

happynutritionist on September 19, 2010:

Interesting sounding drink...hmmm...will have to think about giving it a try:-)

Sandy Mertens from Frozen Tundra on September 15, 2010:

Never had pumpkin juice. Maybe I will try it.

Missmerfaery444 on September 12, 2010:

Fabulous! The bottles are too cute! Would definitely like to try some pumpkin juice :)

Dianne Loomos on September 10, 2010:

I have never had pumpkin juice but I'd try it if I had the chance. The bottle with the pumpkins on top are so cute!

Spook LM on September 10, 2010:

Sounds worse than Yoghurt. Blessed by an Angel.

WhiteOak50 on September 10, 2010:

Umm, I am just not sure it is something that I would drink. But again, who knows. I have never heard of it before, but if I like other pumpkin things I guess this would be okay? Hmm, I would have to think about it. I have drank pumpkin coffees from Starrbucks before.

tandemonimom lm on September 10, 2010:

@tandemonimom lm: Eh ... Universal Studios. That's where they're going. (I am SO not a theme park fan, I pay no attention ...)

Joan4 on September 10, 2010:

The grandchildren would love pumpkin juice!

BuckHawkcenter on September 09, 2010:

Never had pumpkin juice, but I'm getting ready to try it! This sounds great. But, I still haven't tried butterbeer. Need to get moving!

lemonsqueezy lm on September 09, 2010:

I have enver heard of this (other than at Hogwarts). I had to click through when I saw the title. This would be a fun gift for someone who likes Harry Potter because they would NOT be expecting this. I'm glad to see that I can buy some on ebay.

Jennifer Sullivan from Chicago, IL on September 08, 2010:

Those recipes would be good for a Halloween party! My friend went to the theme park and tried it - she said it wasn't bad.

tandemonimom lm on September 08, 2010:

My husband will be taking our two oldest kids to Disneyworld this month to check out the Harry Potter attractions. I wonder if they will try the pumpkin juice or butterbeer? Actually, knowing my kids, the answer is "probably not!"

capriliz lm on September 08, 2010:

I have to admit that this is the first time I heard of Pumpkin juice!

bdkz on September 08, 2010:

This looks great!

Barkely on September 08, 2010:

I've never had it, but I think I might have to give making it a try, now I'm intrigued... hmmm.
