Keurig vs Flavia Coffee Makers
Nothing starts the day like a hot cup of excellent coffee. I begin almost every day this way, and enjoy everything from Folgers to Kona.
Which Single Cup coffee maker is the best?
Single Cup coffee makers have become quite popular, with Keurig leading the way in popularity. But is it the best single cup coffee maker? How does it compare to Flavia drink station?
As it turns out the clear winner isn't cut and dry. Each system has its benefits and drawbacks.
However, I feel that the Flavia Drink station edges out Keurig for best single cup coffee maker.
First, taste
The ultimate decision maker for every coffee drinker should be taste. I've had both Flavia and Keurig coffee. I find Keurig coffee to be bitter, and yet watered down.
Flavia drink station made coffee is more robust. It seems like "real coffee" to me, whereas the Keurig is almost imitation coffee.
Cost per cup - Keurig
The initial outset for both machines are comparable, both having starting price points in the sub-100 dollar range. Keurig gets a slight edge here, I was able to find a few machines in the 75 dollar range.

The drawbacks of the Flavia system
The only major drawback of the Flavia system: It isn't very popular. Keurig has really dominated the single cup coffee market. You can go to your local supermarket and purchase K-cups.
Flavia Fresh Packs I have only seen online, and at my local Achieva Credit Union.
The Keurig system can also utilize a reusable coffee filter
Flavia has no such reusable filter that I could find.
