Yummy Chicken Biryani
Ingredients
- 750 grams chicken
- 750 grams basmati rice
- 300 grams onion, thinly sliced
- 200 grams tomato, thinly sliced
- 4 pcs cardamom
- 3 pcs cinnamon stick
- 3 pcs biryani leaf
- 4 pcs clove
- 100 grams Curd
- 4 pcs green chilli
- Half cup coriander, chopped
- Half cup mint, chopped
- 1½ tbsp red chilli powder
- 150 grams ginger garlic paste
- 150 milliliters oil
- 50 grams ghee
- 3/4 liter hot water
- 1 lemon
- To taste salt
Let's move on to the recipe...
First wash the rice and soak for 15 minutes And then cook till its ¾th done and keep aside
In a frying pan add oil and ghee, add cloves,cardamom, and saute the onions until they are lightly brown (15-20 minutes) in medium flame.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 5 min in medium flame
Then add curd, add some chilli powder (to taste) and fry well
Then add coriander, mint and green chillies and fry for 2 minutes
Then add tomato,salt and fry well for 5 min in medium flame until the tomatoes start to break down and most of the liquid has evaporated, 5 to 7 minutes.
After frying, add chicken and fry for 10 minutes.
Add hot water and pour 1 kg of water per 1 kg of rice and add lemon juice in it
Now add the ¾ boiled rice to the steamed chicken.cover the pan and bake until the liquid evaporates, the rice is tender and the chicken is cooked through, 30 to 40 minutes.
Dum the biryani in a low flame. Let sit covered for 10 minutes now our biryani is ready to serve
Dum process on stove top
Heat a old tawa or a pan, place this biryani pot and dum cook for 12 to 15 mins on a medium heat. If using a induction stovetop, you can directly place the pot at 3 No for 15 to 20 mins.
