This recipe uses different kinds of chocolate in order to make the most amazingly chocolate taste. These brownies also have the best texture. They are super thick and are super moist without being undercooked, and they have a cracked top, which really ties the whole dessert together! These brownies are also super easy to make, so even beginner bakers will be able to make these amazing brownies.
To start: Gather all your ingredients!
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
5 ounces of unsweetened chocolate, chopped up
1 ½ sticks of unsalted butter, cut up
1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
3 large eggs plus one egg yolk
1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¾ cup all-purpose flour
Now let's start baking!
You can start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line an eight-by-eight metal pan with parchment paper and spray with a non-stick cooking spray. Make sure you use a metal pan and not glass -- the metal helps bake the brownies perfectly and will help make the brownies cook all the way through!
Next, we are going to melt the chocolate! Grab a large microwave safe bowl. Add in your chocolate chips, unsweetened chocolate chips and your butter. Microwave for 45 seconds then stir. Heat again for 30 seconds and stir. Continue this until everything is silky smooth. Be careful not to overheat it. If this happens, then you must start all over with new ingredients.
Grab a large bowl. Add in your eggs, egg yolk, and sugar. Grab an electric mixer and mix everything until it is light in color and has a thin smooth ribbony texture. Next add in your vanilla and mix together.
Now for the fun part, grab your chocolate mixture and slowly and gently stir it into your egg sugar mixture. Next, slowly fold in your flour and salt until everything is thoroughly combined and smooth.
Grab your metal pan and pour your batter into it. (If you're not scared of a little raw egg, this batter is great to eat straight too)! Put the pan in the oven and bake it! It will take around 35-40 minutes to finish completely. You can test when it's done by inserting a toothpick in the middle of the pan and pulling the toothpick out. It the batter still contains liquid, and the toothpick is covered with batter when removed, then the brownies are not done. If there are moist crumbs on the toothpick, then your brownies are done!
Once the brownies are done and out of the oven, they will continue to bake, so be careful to not overbake them. That's why I recommend checking the brownies frequently when they are close to being done so that they do not dry out. You should let the brownies cool completely before cutting to prevent them from falling apart, and they'll stay moister this way too. I know this can be hard because they look so delicious and smell so delicious when they come out!
