Wonderful Pinto Bean Recipes

When you make pinto beans you are only limited by your imagination as far as what should go in your pinto beans. Over the years I have experimented with adding all kinds of wonderful tasty things to pinto beans. You can add all kinds of spices , herbs , and other vegetables to pinto beans and if you think carefully about what your putting together you'll probably be amazed at how very wonderful your pinto beans taste.

Always wash and look your pinto beans for both rocks and dirt. Wash your dry pinto beans well in a colander under cold running water to make sure they are as clean as possible when you put them together.

In order to cook your pintos more quickly with out hours and hours of cooking soak your pintos overnight covered with water. In the morning pour your pintos out into a colander and rinse them well again.

And you know you can make a complete meal out of a pot of pintos and a cake of corn bread. On the side you can have shredded Mexican cheese , sour cream , sliced jalapenos , fine diced sweet onion , shredded cheddar cheese and etc. Make it a festive event and I bet it will be a big hit with your family and friends. Serve all your extras each in its own small bowl so your family and guests can add what they want.

Here is one of my favorite Pinto Bean recipes. Just be sure to soak your prewashed and looked pintos over night before you prepare the recipe to greatly cut down on the cooking time.

For Your Recipe You Will Need.

1. One Pound Of Pintos soaked over night and drained well.

2. Six Cups Chicken Stock.

3. One Teaspoon Ground Sage.

4. One Green Bell Pepper cleaned and chopped fine.

5. One Sweet Purple Onion cleaned and chopped fine.

6. One Teaspoon Black Pepper.

7. One Teaspoon Ground Sea Salt.

8. Two Teaspoons Cumin.

9. One Pound Boiled Ham Cubes.

10. One Tablespoon Minced Fresh Garlic.

11. One Four Ounce Can Green Chilies.

12. One Four Ounce Can Red Pimentos.

You want to add all your ingredients to a large stock pot and cook for 2-3 hours or until your beans are done and your bean soup is thick. If your bean soup gets to thick add more chicken broth. i guarantee you that these pinto beans will be some of the best you have ever eaten.

Corn Bread Recipe

1. 2 Boxes Jiffy Corn Bread Mix.

2. One Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

3. One Cup Whole Kernel Corn.

4. Two Large Eggs.

5. One Cup Buttermilk.

Mix all your ingredients in a large bowl and if you have a muffin pan purchase cup cake liners to go in your muffin pan. Spray your muffin pan with vegetable cooking spray and then put in your paper cup cake papers. Fill each cup cake paper almost to the top and bake your corn bread muffins in a preheated 400 degree oven until the tops of your muffins are golden brown.

Serve the pintos in a bowl with what ever extras you want to serve on the side and serve a corn bread muffin with each bowl of pintos. I some times serve hot buttered white rice on the side as these pintos make great rice and beans.

The recipe for the cornbread above makes a wonderful cornbread muffin that you and your guests and family will love.

Awesome, I love pintos! Can you leave out the ham cubes or substitute something else for just a side dish of beans?
