Warm weather brings many great flavors with it, two of which are watermelon and lemonade. This recipe combines the two flavors together, and is very refreshing !
8 cups of seeded and cubed watermelon
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of sugar
2 large lemons (juiced) or 2/3 cup of lemon juice
In a small pan bring the water to a boil and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved. Let set until cool. Next, you want to puree the watermelon in a blender. Add the juice from your lemons (or lemon juice) into the blender with the watermelon, pulse a couple times to blend.
Strain the puree over a bowl, and put the juice part back into the blender and add the cooled sugar/water mixture. Put it in the fridge until chilled.
To serve, fill you glasses half full with ice, pour the watermelon/lemon mixture over the ice. Top it off with Sprite (or 7up.) Enjoy !

Oh my word - how refreshing do those drinks look! Great photo and interesting recipe. Have you considered adding the tiniest dashes of Worcester sauce to the final mix Deborah? Might just send you in watermelon paradise! Hee-ha!

Thank you Deborah for sharing this recipe. It is rainy season here and we like to eat this fruit in summer only, although the fruit is available in all seasons now. Your recipe will help me in cumming summer.
