Healthy cake batter protein shake? It's possible!

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 serving vanilla protein powder
  • 4 drops almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Stevia to taste
  • 1/2 cup water (for thinner shake, use more water)
  • Ice cubes to desired consistency
  • (optional) sprinkles on top

Cake Batter

This recipe is spreading around the internet like wildfire! However, many recipes use cottage cheese instead of yogurt. I prefer the taste and consistency of yogurt. This shake only contains about 200 calories, depending on which protein powder you use. I use Body Fortress Whey Isolate, found at Walmart in 2lb containers. If you use this protein powder you will also be taking in a whopping 60g of protein!

  1. Put all ingredients (excluding sprinkles) into blender. Blend to desired thickness. Enjoy this delicious and healthy shake for breakfast or after a workout.

Pumpkin Pie

This shake makes my mouth water just writing about it. I love pumpkin pie and would eat it every day if I could! However, that is not a healthy option, so this shake fulfills my craving!

Put all ingredients in blender and blend until creamy smooth. Enjoy!

Tips for Protein Shakes

Add Berries. Without going through a whole recipe, simply add some frozen berries to a plain vanilla smoothie. I use frozen mixed berries, but you could use strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or anything else your heart desires.

Buy a shaker: Blender Bottle offers a variety of colors and sizes. These are the best things to have if you are a shake drinker. It cuts a good ten minutes out of my day by using this instead of a blender or stirring the shake with a spoon and pouring it into a to-go bottle.

Body Fortress

Buy Casein Protien. For the the times you find yourself hungry between meals and before bed, drink this. It stimulates muscle growth while you sleep! Awesome!

Enjoy! Shakes are great ways to increase health, build muscles and supplement meals. Enjoy them and try new flavors.

I love protein shakes as well. Both of these are my regulars. I love pumpkin but cake batter is my favorite by far! A tip: add a tiny bit of butter extract to the recipe, a couple drops. It truly gives it the cake batter flavor. I use butter extract in all my cake batter recipes now!

looks lovely! I always check out this website before buying any protein products - www.pro-proteinshake.com - My personal favourite is the Labrada Lean Body Hi-Protein shake because of the high protein:carb ratio.
