What in the World Is a Springbokkie?

In the Afrikannas language, Springbokkie means "little Springbok". a small, slender antelope found in South Africa. It is the national animal of South Africa, so it makes sense that the national drink is named for it. The national rugby team of the country is also called the Springboks and the drink colors (green and gold) reflect the team's colors! How's that for significance?

EVERYONE LIKES TO HAVE FUN WITH A SHOOTER COCKTAIL:

With all the significance this drink has, it wouldn't be right to just drink it without some type of ceremonial ritual. Would it? Of Course not!

Springboks make a type of squealing sound in the wild. So, how is that incorporated into the fun of shooting this drink?

Simple! Put both your hands behind your ears. Point your index fingers upwards. Then stomp your feet, snort, and squeal! Now bend over and pick the glass up with your teeth and shoot the drink! That's some hilarious fun! I imagine that after shooting a few and repeating the ritual, it can get pretty crazy!

THERE IS AN ART TO MAKING THE SPRINGBOKKIE, THE NATIONAL DRINK OF SOUTH AFRICA

Ingredients

1 Part crème de menthe
1 Part Irish cream

Instructions

Using a shot glass, pour the Crème De Menthe into the glass. Using a spoon, pour the Irish Crème off the spoon so it goes into the glass slowly. It will settle on top without sinking using the method with the spoon.
