I have grape vines growing in the yard, so occasionally, I pick the best looking leaves off and prepare some stuffed.

It's glorified meatloaf stuffed into a leaf. Basic porcupine meatballs, rolled up and cooked for an hour.

Ingredients

Use for rolling:

  • grape leaves

For the filling:

  • ground turkey
  • minced sweet pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • chicken flavor rice
  • minced onion tops

In foil with filled leaves:

  • lemon juice
  • chicken broth
  • olive oil
  • olive oil

Yes. Just, plain grape leaves.

Roll up like a wonton. Place in foil. Extra leaves on bottom. Extra leaves on top.

I added olive oil to bottom and lemon juice. Put rolls in. Folded side down. Since rice is raw, it needs the two cups of broth added.

Then, close up foil and bake for an hour. I have baked them on the grill and in oven. Both delicious.

Just make sure rice has cooked until tender.
