What is Chicken Guy?
Chicken Guy is a quick-service restaurant in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World that's known for its flavorful chicken tenders and unique dipping sauces. A quick-service restaurant is another term for fast food. Chicken Guy is owned by chef Guy Fieri who is known for his show on Food Network called Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Guy Fieri opened his fast food at Disney Springs in 2018. There are now multiple Chicken Guy locations in Florida, Maryland, and California and Chicken Guy will be expanding to other states in the near future.
Even though Chicken Guy is known for its chicken tenders and dipping sauces, you can also order other things. Guy Fieri's restaurants are known for their flavor so everything on the menu has good flavor. Chicken Guy also serves chicken sandwiches, salads, loaded fries, loaded macaroni and cheese, and large milkshakes. Even if you don't like chicken tenders or you're not craving chicken tenders that day, there's plenty of other good options to try.
Chicken Guy has a really relaxed atmosphere. There's always music playing and it's a great place to get fast food and hang out with friends. Chicken Guy doesn't feel overly crowded inside because there's seating both indoors and outdoors. Orlando gets really hot and humid during the year so it's really nice to sit inside and get food. However, in the evening or if you just like sitting outside to eat, the seating area outside is really nice too. Due to the coronavirus, there's less seating to help with social distancing but it feels safe inside. There are markings on the floor to stay 6 feet apart when you're in line and an employee gets the drinks for you from the soda machine. I think this is a good idea so that you don't need to worry that everyone is touching the soda machine. Even with all these restrictions, I still like Chicken Guy and I still think Chicken Guy has a good atmosphere.
Chicken Guy has always been a very popular place to get fast food at Disney Springs. Even with the coronavirus, the lines haven't stopped. There are social distancing markings on the floor while you're in line and an employee only lets a certain amount of people inside at a time. However, if you're going to Chicken Guy for lunch or dinner around the same time as most people are eating, expect long lines. I ate at Chicken Guy before the coronavirus and I remember waiting about 20 minutes just to get into Chicken Guy to order my food. Then I still had to wait in line to get to the register and order. However, once you order your food, it doesn't take very long to get the food to your table. I usually wait about 10 minutes for my food. The employee brings the food to your table and you can tell that the food is hot and fresh. I think Chicken Guy is worth the wait but don't go if you're in a rush and have less than an hour to eat.
Quality and Flavor
I've been to Chicken Guy a few times over the past 2 years and I really like eating at Chicken Guy. I always order the 3 tenders combo because I think it's more worth it to order the fries and drink together. The chicken tenders from Chicken Guy are always hot and fresh when it comes to the table. The chicken tenders are breaded and seasoned then fried so the chicken tenders are very flavorful and taste amazing. They taste very different than other chicken tenders I've had before. Also, the fries are seasoned in a special seasoning to give them a lot of flavor. The chicken tender combo also comes with your choice of 2 dipping sauces. Chicken Guy has a large variety of dipping sauces you can choose from but I usually order the brown sugar bbq. The chicken tenders and fries taste great with the dipping sauces but they have so much flavor already that you don't even need dipping sauces.
Chicken Guy is definitely a more expensive place to have chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches compared to places like KFC, Mcdonalds, or Chick fil A. However, Chicken Guy is located on Disney property and all food on Disney property is more expensive than food off property. I ordered the 3 tender combo which includes 3 tenders, fries and a fountain beverage and it cost me $11.49. If you order just 3 tenders it cost $5.99. I know that there are other places that cost even more than Chicken Guy for the chicken tenders combo but Chicken Guy is definitely a little expensive for me. If you've never eaten at Chicken Guy and want to try it, I definitely recommend eating there. However, if you have a family, the cost for the meal can add up very quickly. For example: a family of four would need 4 meals and this would cost about $50 after taxes so if you're going alone or with 1 other person, this would be a good food option.
