Minnesota Sushi - Or Pickle Roll Ups
Do not be opinionated. If someone makes these, whatever variation it is, just take one, eat it, and shut your mouth! Only an ungrateful person would be critical.
I noticed in another page, someone corrected the cook, told them that they were called salami rolls, not sushi rolls. Don't listen to them. They are wrong. These don't have even a drop of salami.
These are tortilla wraps, smeared with a goodly amount of chive and onion cream cheese, luncheon thin sliced ham, some pepper jack cheese shreds and some dill pickles.
Cream cheese first, then the ham. Make sure the ham does not cover the cream cheese on the end. The extra cream cheese is the glue that binds these together so you may leave off the toothpick.
Sprinkle the cheese across the ham and place four pickles end to end across the tortilla. You will have to slice the pickle end off so they are flush.
Then roll up, and slice crossways. Each sliced piece makes one Minnesota sushi. Now, if they were to argue that sushi is rice, a person would just have to let them have their say, and let them be right...but, just this once. If they don't want to eat them, I say, more for us...
Enjoy!
