Manhattan clam chowder


Manhattan clam chowder

Serves 6

What you need

1 cup chopped onions

2/3 cup finely minced celery

2 teaspoons finely minced green peppers

2 cloves minced garlic

2 tablespoons butter

1 cup diced potatoes

3 fresh tomatoes peeled, seeded and diced

1pint fresh opened minced clams

1 teaspoon minced parsley

3 cups boiling water salted

Salt and pepper

3-4 soda crackers, coarsely crumbled


1 Simmer the onions, celery, green peppers, and garlic in butter for 20 minutes.

2 Add potatoes, and salted water boil cook until potatoes are tinder.

3 add tomatoes clams with juice, salt and pepper, thyme,and cayenne to taste to potatoes.

Bring chowder to a boil. Add chopped parsley and pour in bowl over crackers.
