Mouth watering Indian Tandoori Fish

Making Tandoori fish is not very difficult and can be easily made at home. It is unique to India and has unique Indian taste. Ingredients are easily available at a store nearby you or at eBay and amazon.com. I am sure kids in the house would love this fish. Since fish are rich in 3 amino fatty acids and has good cholesterol, thus this is healthy food

Ingredients:

  1. White fish fillets: 2 pounds or about 1 Kg.
  2. Ginger: chopped 1 Tbsp.
  3. Garlic: 4 cloves.
  4. Coriander Seeds: Grounded 1 Tbsp.
  5. Cumin Seeds: Grounded 1 Tbsp.
  6. Cayenne Pepper: Grounded 1 Tsp.
  7. Vegetable oil: ½ cup.
  8. Vinegar: 1/3 cup.
  9. Salt: To taste

Method:

  1. Cut the fish in to 2 inch pieces and keep aside.
  2. Any white fish would do so buy the one easily available in your area.
  3. Take a blender and put in ginger, garlic and vinegar.
  4. Blend them well.
  5. Now add salt, coriander, cumin, cayenne and oil in the blender.
  6. Blend well and form a fine paste.
  7. Now put this paste in Bowl and put in the fish pieces.
  8. Rub this paste on all sides of the fish.
  9. Cover the bowl and leave it in refrigerator for minimum of 4 hours. Better if you can keep it over night.
  10. Now when you want to cook the fish, preheat oven at maximum heat at broil.
  11. Now take an oven proof dish and line it with an aluminum foil.
  12. Now put the fish pieces in the trey and broil for 9 to 10 minutes.
  13. Turn over the fish and broil for another 9 to 10 minutes.
  14. Do keep an eye on the fish while it is being broiled as it can burn easily if the thickness of fish piece is less. In that case you have to decrease the broil time.
  15. Serve it with coriander chutney or Ketch up and chilled coke or hot tea.
  16. It is also an excellent snack with drinks.

Wow this looks so amazing and simple to make--I like that. My four and five year old love fish but this may be too spicy for them. If I eliminated the cayenne would I loose the Tandoori flavor?
