How to Make Perfect Jeera (Cumin) Rice

Jeera (Cumin) Rice

The recipe comes with the perfect jeera rice and perfectly cooked rice with amazing taste. Jeera translate as cumin. It is most famous ordered rice dish in indian restaurant. It is very easy, tasty and healthy.

1 glass basmati rice (long grain)
1 and 3/4 glass water.
1 tablespoon Cumin seeds.
2 inch cinnamon stick.
1 Black cardamom.
2 Dry red chilli.
2 Bay leaves.
2 tablespoon ghee.
1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves.
1/2 tablespoon salt.

1. Turn on the flame, heat the pan.
2. Let the pan heat, add ghee in the pan.
3. Add cinnamon stick, cardamom, dry red chilli and bay leaves and fry it for few seconds (10 sec).
4. Add cumin seeds. Fry the cumin seeds for 10-15 seconds on medium flame.
5. Add washed rice and stir it.
6. Add water (1 and 3/4 glass), stir it.
7. Add salt (1/2 tablespoon), stir it.
8. Next, cover the pan and cook it on high flame till it starts boiling. when it starts boiling, try to stir it again.
9. Now reduce the flame to medium and cook it for 8-9 minutes, cover the pan.
10. After 8-9 minutes, open the lid of pan and stir it.
11. Next, cover half of the pan and cook it for 4-5 minutes on low flame.
12. Check the rice with knife or fork, make sure there is no water left in it.
13. Turn of the flame, cover the pan and leave rice for 8-10 minutes.
14. Jeera rice is ready. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix it.
15. Take out in serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves.
16. Ready to serve.
