Opening a beer with a dollar bill.

I don't know much, however I do know the government keeps printing a lot of cash even if it isn't worth as much as it used to be. And Americans consume on a daily basis liquid tons of the frothy-head beverage, beer.

I have been a professional beer drinker for many years, I have excellent credentials and references available upon request.

Beer and the dollar bill have existed together for a long time. It is only fitting that the two have a more intimate relationship other than you give me a dollar and I'll give you a beer. Is there a way these two completely molecular dissimilar substances can work together symbiotically among us? Yes, there is!

You give me a dollar, I'll give you a beer, and you can then have your beer opened with that dollar. Genius!

It will happen to most of us some day; our first time tapping a keg and our first beer out of a red solo cup. Then the time will come when we are relied upon to open beer bottles with the all mighty dollar. Heed my teachings young scholar, it will happen..........

You have been charged with the task of opening a beer bottle with a dollar bill. After that you will have to tie a cherry stem into knot with your tongue (the trick I used on my wife 14 years ago), however we will get to that one later. For now we will stick with the task at hand, the dollar bill and the beer.

It sounds impossible but it works. Follow the simple step-by-step directions I have provided for you here in this hub and in no time you will be poppin caps all over the place.

Foreign or domestic, green bottle or brown; you will be able to impress all of your friends and maybe even that cute girl that has been staring at you from across the bar. Nothing impresses a girl like a great bar trick!

Maybe you want to make a wager with someone who doesn't believe it can be done; if you win you keep the bill, it sounds like an easy living to me.

I must warn you of a couple of things. You are probably going to destroy your dollar bill if you don't follow the directions correctly or you make too many failed attempts. Don't use a five, ten, twenty, fifty, or hundred dollar bill until you are well practiced at this technique. Remember it is a federal offense to purposely destroy money.

Another thing to remember is until you become practiced, you are most likely going to cut your finger with the bottle cap (notice cut on my finger in picture #3). You must remember that the bottle cap is made from metal and you are made of, well, soft stuff. If you cut yourself and get blood all over the place it is not my fault. I warned you.

When you drink you should drink responsibly, so you as well should be responsible when opening beers with a dollar bill. Most obvious being not to attempt while inside a motor vehicle unless you are in the trunk. Keep pointed away from other people when performing operation,(especially the cute girl). Remember to pick up your litter, girls dig that.

Remember that practice makes perfect so if you keep at it and don't let that dollar bill get you down you will be the best. And in the future everyone will look to you not only to buy their beer with your money, but to also open their beer with your money.

Thank you Tillsontitan I had fun writing it because I was able to drink beer at the same time. Thanks for getting it. There sure are some crazy titles in exclusive land.

Mary Craig from New York on December 10, 2012:

P.S. - I had to pin this one too because its such a hoot.

Mary Craig from New York on December 10, 2012:

Not only Exclusive, but a real toot! You did a great job on this one Steve. Your sense of humor and creative imagination surely come through in every line! Such as, "Heed my teachings young scholar, it will happen.........." and "You must remember that the bottle cap is made from metal and you are made of, well, soft stuff." To repeat, great hub!

Voted up, useful (for some), funny, and yes, interesting!

Steve West (author) from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on December 09, 2012:

Yes this was an "exclusive title". Google it. Apparently people really wanna know this stuff. ;)
