There are four basic styles of fried eggs indicating the level of doneness.

  • over easy
  • over medium
  • over well

Here is an easy way to prepare an over easy egg, without flipping, even a beginner at cooking can make it perfectly each time.

  • 1 fresh egg
  • 1 tsp butter
  • salt as needed
  • black pepper powder as needed


  1. Keep a non-stick pan on low heat and put in the butter Spread it all over the pan.
  2. When the butter melts break an egg into the pan and cover the pan with a lid.
  3. Let the egg cook until the top of the yolk is covered with a white layer. This should take about 3-5 minutes depending on the size of your burner. Keep the heat on low.
  4. When done remove the fried egg to a plate and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve with bread or toast or have it by itself.
