How to Make Best Barbecue Chicken Wings, The Easy Way

How do you make the best possible tasting barbecue chicken wings without it being too time consuming or complicated of a preparation and cooking process? Barbecue chicken wings can be quite easy to prepare. Not only that. Barbecue chicken when prepared right is absolutely delicious. Here is a very easy way to make barbecue chicken wings.

You will be baking the chicken wings in the oven and when there is just fifteen minutes left in the cooking process, you will use a brush to brush the chicken wings with some great tasting barbecue sauce, a brand of your choice. It’s really that simple. Written right on the barbecue sauce bottles, many brands of barbecue sauce will recommend adding the sauce to your dish during the last fifteen minutes of cooking time and that typical recommendation works very well. If you add the barbecue sauce much sooner than that, it might become charred or burnt tasting or seem to solidify a bit much and not have the desirable consistency of the liquid and “saucy” barbecue sauce. So, fifteen minutes before the cooking process is done is a very good estimate for when to add your barbecue sauce to your chicken.

First, purchase a large tray of raw chicken wings from your local grocery store or large supermarket. (If you already have raw chicken wings in your freezer, then they will need to thaw adequately to be used for this recipe.) Remove all packaging from the raw chicken wings, then wash the chicken wings well and drain them. You can try first rinsing the raw chicken wings with plain water and then doing a second rinse with some vinegar. I also recommend squeezing lemon or lime juice on to the raw chicken wings.

Barbecue chicken wings

Next, select the following seasonings to sprinkle on to the chicken wings:

  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic


  1. Place the seasoned chicken wings in a baking pan, perhaps a baking pan lined with foil that was greased with oil to prevent the food from sticking and for easier clean up.
  2. Bake the chicken wings in a pre-heated oven set at 400 degrees for the first fifteen minutes, then lower the heat to 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then lower the heat again to 325 degrees for 20 more minutes.

After the first five minutes of the last 20 minutes cooking time has passed, then carefully remove the baking pan of chicken wings from the oven, using oven mitts on your hands. You will then be brushing the chicken wings with the bottled barbecue sauce in your favorite brand and flavor such as hickory smoked or honey garlic barbecue sauce among examples. You can then place the baking pan containing the chicken wings back in the oven for the remaining fifteen minutes.

After that fifteen minutes have passed, you are then ready to turn off the oven and can go ahead and do so. Your scrumptious barbecue chicken wings will then be ready to eat.

  • You will need to let the barbecue chicken wings cool a bit but eat them while they are relatively hot.
  • Enjoy your barbeque chicken wings.
  • Remember that having seasoned them well before even using any barbecue sauce is going to make them very flavorful and delicious, simply bursting with flavor! Yum.
