Jollibee is a famous Filipino fast-food chain that started to establish some branches all over the world. The restaurant became popular for its "Chicken Joy" or their own version of fried chicken. In addition, they serve other delicious menu items such as Yumburger, Jolly Spaghetti, Jolly Hotdog & Pies, Burger Steak, to name a few. In this recipe, I re-created my favorite Jollibee burger steak supreme at home. It is a full packed-meal that I always order whenever I get the chance to visit their chain. Let me show you the step-by-step procedure of my recipe.

For the fries:

  • 80 grams fries
  • salt
  • cooking oil

For the Rice:

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • additional water, (for rinsing the rice)

For the Mushroom Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons mushroom, sliced
  • 1/4 cup gravy, store-bought

For the Burger Patty:

  • 125 grams pork, ground
  • 1/8 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • beaten egg, as needed


  • 1 egg
  • cooking oil


For Preparation:

  • 4 medium bowls
  • 1 medium plate
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • knife
  • chopping board

For Cooking:

  • strainer
  • bowl
  • pot
  • saute pan
  • fry pan
  • grill pan
  • tongs

To Cook the Rice:

  1. In a pot, wash and rinse rice to remove impurities.
  2. Strain to remove excess water.
  3. Bring water to the boil.
  4. Lower the heat and then add rice. Cover the pot.
  5. Allow it to simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Turn off the heat. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Use a fork to loosen up the rice.

To Make the Burger Patty:

  1. Add all the burger patty ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Cover and refrigerate the mixture to allow the flavors to sip in.
  3. Once ready, mold patty using the measuring up.
  4. Heat oil in a grill pan or fry pan.
  5. Cook each side of the patty based on the desired doneness.

To Cook the French Fries:

  1. Deep fry the fries until slightly golden brown.
  2. Remove fries from the oil. Let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  3. Set the deep fryer again. For the second time around, fry the fries until golden brown.
  4. Once cooked, remove the fries from the oil. Season them with salt.

To Cook the Sunny Side Up Egg:

  1. Heat small amount of oil in fry pan.
  2. Cook sunny side up egg based on the desired doneness. Set aside.

To Cook the Mushroom Gravy:

  1. Using the same pan, saute sliced mushrooms in a butter.
  2. Add gravy mixture. Set aside.

To Assemble the Homemade Jollibee Burger Steak Supreme:

  1. On the one side of the plate, put one cup of steamed rice. Top it with a piece of egg.
  2. While on the other side of the plate, lay French fries. Top it with burger patty. Then, add generous amount of mushroom sauce on top of the patty.
  3. Serve while still hot.

Tips and Techniques

  1. Make your own burger patty with breadcrumbs.
  2. Replace gravy mixture with homemade KFC gravy.
  3. Add more mushroom slices, if preferred.
  4. Double fry French fries for crunchier texture.
