Baguette

Baguette is a long French white bread which is popular in Europe. It is made of flour, yeast, salt and water. It is crusty outside and soft inside. It is usually 30 to around 60 cm long and about 5 to 6 cm wide. You can buy baked baguettes in the bakeries or you can buy pre-baked in the supermarket and just bake them at home as they are very crusty and fresh when you bake them in your own kitchen whenever you need them.

Baguette Baking Book

I have bread baking books and one of them has a baguette recipe. Whenever I want to bake baguette, I check my baking book just to be sure that I have all the ingredients in making the dough. I would be having this Baguette Baking Book if I haven't my bread baking book already. This would be a good gift to those who loves baking.

Procedure

  • Cut the baguette lengthwise.
  • Spread the butter or margarine on both inner sides of the baguette.
  • Arrange the endive salad leaves on the lower part of the baguette.
  • Put the Schwarzwälder and Gouda cheeses alternately on top of the salad.
  • Arrange the slices of tomatoes and slices of hard boiled eggs alternately on top.
  • Put salt and pepper to taste on top of the tomatoes and eggs.
  • If you have not buttered the other half of the baguette yet, you can do it now. Then cover it with this half. Bon Apetit!

Hi Hitesh! Sorry for the late reply. I just saw this now. It is about a baguette bread not Pita bread although you have given me an idea what to make next. I like that bread too. Thanks very much.

Hitesh on March 31, 2014:

Homemade Pita Bread I love pita bread, but I never buy it because I can never find a brand that I like. And, I very raelry make bread at home, but these look so fluffy and delicious that I might just have to whip up a batch! If you're following nourishing traditions principles, make sure you soak your flour to help with digestion.
