Latte Recipe Without an Espresso Machine!

Love lattes? Want to know how to make your own latte drink? Check out this homemade latte recipe that can be customized with your choice of favorite flavors. Don't spend your entire paycheck on expensive lattes when you can easily make your own. You may knock your cravings for Starbucks lattes with this easy latte recipe.

Lattes are so nice to get a person started in the morning. An easy latte recipe that is easily customizable is nice to have during the holidays as well. And what is more welcoming on a raindy day or a cold winter night than a warm mug of hot flavored latte?

The best part about this latte recipe may be that it requires no espresso machine! This easy latte recipe makes enough for one person:

Recommended Espresso Machines If You Decide You Want One

Latte Ingredients for One Serving

  • 3/4 c. 2% milk (You can use whole milk also)
  • 1/8 t. vanilla (optional, but makes it way yummier- Use real vanilla if possible!)
  • 2 t. raw sugar (regular white sugar also works or honey)
  • 2 oz. (jigger cup) of extra strong brewed hot coffee
  • Optional whipped cream (homemade is best, but whipped topping will do)

How to Make a Latte Recipe Just Like Starbucks!

Warm the milk on the stove or in a microwave until it is hot. Be careful not to scald it. Put everything  except the coffee into a blender. Blend until it gets nice and frothy, like a latte.

Immediately pour the contents of the blender into a large coffee mug. Add the hot coffee.

Top your homemade latte with whipped cream if you like. You can also sprinkle cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa, ginger, or a combination of preferred spices on top for a festive appearance and added flavor. Get creative- try apple pie spice or pumpkin spice, for example.

Latte Recipe Variations - Make It Your Own!

Also, you can sprinkle the sugar on top instead of putting in the blender. This creates a nice appearance if using raw sugar especially.

Another variation to this latte recipe is adding the whipped cream (or whipped topping) to the blender with the rest of the ingredients instead of adding it to the top after it is poured into the mug.

Adding a piece of dark chocolate and letting it melt before drinking also makes a divine latte drink.

Try adding other extracts other than vanilla, for example, almond or peppermint.

A homemade latte sounds quite delightful! I'm not sure mine would come out looking as nice as the one shown in the picture though.

latte recipe and with a blender! nice tip, easy and practical. Thanks.

2patricias from Sussex by the Sea on December 20, 2009:

Never thought of frothing the milk in the blender - will give it a try!

Gingerbread latte in our nearest Starbucks is about £3! So washing the blender won't seem too onerous.

Thanks for the tip.

Zsuzsy Bee from Ontario/Canada on December 20, 2009:

This sounds great. My cappuccino/espresso machine gave up the ghost a couple of months ago and my finance minister (my bank account) has 'nay-ed' the purchase of a new one for now so making lattes with the blender is a great idea...never thought of it.Thanks so much for sharing

Happy holidays Angela

kindest regards Zsuzsy
