Eggs - Deviled and Darn Delicious
Yes. They are sloppy. Although, the yolk mixture does firm up as they sit. I did not wait for that before I gobbled some up.
Ingredients
For the boat:
- 12 hard boiled eggs, peeled, sliced in half
Filling:
- yolks
- miracle whip
- mustard
Garnish:
- green olive, cut in half
- seasoned salt
Cold Water - Salt - Boil - Cover - Simmer 12 Minutes
Dump Out Boiling Water - Run Cold Water to Cool Eggs
Cooling boiled eggs quickly keeps yolks yellow.
Peel Eggs
Cut in Half - Remove Yolks
Mash yolks with a fork. I start with a good glop of miracle whip and stir it in. If it's not creamy enough, I add more whip until it is. Mustard gets added after you get your whip right.
Once everything is mixed together, it will thicken as the finished eggs sit.
Mash Yolks - Add Miracle Whip
Use spoon to scoop Miracle Whip. Use fork to stir yolks. Do not get yolk in your Miracle Whip.
Keep Adding Whip Until Creamy
We like ours tangy, so I use extra mustard.
Add Mustard
Use Fork to Fill White with Yolk Mixture - Drop On
Add Green Olive Half to Each Egg
Sprinkle Seasoned salt on top and eat.
Historically, people used paprika on top of their deviled eggs. We no longer do that. It did make them pretty, but I think there is some in the season salt.
Enjoy!
