Easy Blueberry Banana Cream Cheese Pie

A Delicious Quick and Easy Pie

For anyone that likes blueberries, this is a very quick and easy recipe! Blueberries and bananas together may sound a little strange, but this has the best flavor! Blueberries are known to be very high in anti-oxidants and therefore very good for you. Not to mention that this is one of my very favorite fruits.

This is a very easy recipe and when I started making this pie for family gatherings, my sister-in-law asked if I would make an extra one as she loved it so much and she usually only got one piece before it was all gone. Once I did that, her daugher and her started playing "hide the pie". Nikki would try to take the pie home with her, or at least half of it. So now, I always have to make three of them. I have to make one for my sister-in-law and one for her daughter, Nikki. Then I have to have one for the rest of the family. Trust me, my family gatherings are never boring! Here is all you need to make this great tasting quick and easy blueberry banana ice box pie.

Serves approximately 8 people.

  • 1 ready made pie crust, graham cracker or regular
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling
  • 1 large ripe banana, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar

  1. Slice the bananas horizontally about 1/4 inch in thickness and line the bottom and sides of the pie crust with them.
  2. Mix the softened cream cheese with the sugar and vanilla extract with a mixer until smooth. Now add the whipped topping and mix on high for several seconds to make it nice and fluffy. Pour this mixture over the bananas and spread smoothly.
  3. Spoon the blueberry pie filling on top of the cream cheese mixture and spread evenly. You can add some whipped cream on top for some added eye appeal. I like to use the whipped cream you can squirt from a can as you can get a little decorative with it.

You can add more whipped topping on top of the pie filling if you would like, but be sure that it can be refrigerated quickly or your whipped topping will “melt”. You can use cherries instead of blueberries for a variation that is also a big hit also!

Try this for your next family dessert, it is so easy and I’m sure it will be a favorite. Just be sure you make enough so someone in your family doesn’t play “hide the pie”!

Wow! A healthy, no-bake and seemingly delicious dessert! I'd prefer to make this from scratch though.. but we'll see, maybe I'll find a ready made pie crust

Sheila Brown (author) from Southern Oklahoma on May 12, 2015:

Hi Kathryn! Blueberries are my favorite for pies and desserts. I took my 3 pies to Thanksgiving again this year, again, nothing left to bring home. My husband favorite fruit for pies is cherry, so I made him a cherry banana pie when came back home. It's really good too! Thank you for stopping in and commenting! Have a wonderful day! :)

Kathryn from Windsor, Connecticut on April 10, 2013:

This looks so good! I love both blueberries and bananas, and the combination of cream cheese and whipped cream is delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe, as well as the story behind it. It has to be great, if you have to make 3 pies for your family get-togethers!

Sheila Brown (author) from Southern Oklahoma on April 10, 2013:

Hi Peggy! I love blueberries and one day had some bananas that I was afraid were going to go bad, so I put them together and loved it! Hubby is not that fond of blueberries, so I have made the same thing using canned cherries and bananas, it's great too! Let me know how you like it! Thank you so much for all your comments and shares! I hope you are having a wonderful day yourself! :)

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on April 10, 2013:

Came back to share this delicious sounding dessert. My mother used to make a similar one using canned cherries but without the bananas. I had not thought about it in quite some time. Still have not tried your recipe...but I will! Will share it with others. Hope you are having a great day! :)

Sheila Brown (author) from Southern Oklahoma on March 03, 2013:

Hi vespa! I love blueberries, the are my favorite fruit! Don't be surprised if you have to start making more than one at a time after your family tries it! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting! I always enjoy hearing from you! Have a wonderful day! :)

Hi Suzie! The sugar in my recipe is just granulated sugar. If you use a different type of sugar in your cheesecake type recipes, I'm sure it would work with this one as well. This is really very easy to make and is sooo good! I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for your kind comment, and all your support! It is always appreciated! Have a wonderful day, Suzie! :)

Vespa Woolf from Peru, South America on March 03, 2013:

Blueberries are one of my favorite fruits, too, so I hope to try this. I will probably have to hide it, just like your sister-in-law! : )

Suzanne Ridgeway from Dublin, Ireland on March 03, 2013:

Hi Peggy! I This really is a easy pie to make and the blueberries and bananas go together great. Hubby doesn't like anything "pumpkin", so I make this or a cherry pie at Thanksgiving. My sister-in-law is a hoot! She keeps the family gatherings interesting, to say the least! Thank you for stopping in, commenting and the votes! Have a wonderful day! :)

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on November 03, 2012:

This sounds like a simple dessert to make and I am sure that the combination of blueberries and bananas is good. Will have to keep this in mind the next time I make a pie. Actually it will probably be a pumpkin pie next given the time of perhaps the time after that. :) Sounds like you have a lot of fun at your family gatherings. Up and useful votes.

Sheila Brown (author) from Southern Oklahoma on February 01, 2012:

Hi RTalloni! This combination sounded a little odd to me too, but it sure is good! Soy cream cheese would probably work too. Yes, my sister-in-law and her daughter are characters! But, they add a lot of fun to our family. Thank you for commenting on this hub, I appreciate it! Have a wonderful day! :)

RTalloni on February 01, 2012:

This combination does sound a little different, but interesting, too. Can't eat the cream cheese, but the recipe might work with the soy cream cheese. I might try to think through using the two fruits in other ways, as well. Thanks much! (Your sister and her daughter sound like fun characters.)

This sounds very good to me. I don't think it sounds at all strange to put the two together. When I make a fruit salad I put them together along with any other kind of fruit there is. Voted up.
