Magic Weight Loss Soup Ingredients
- 2-14.5 oz. cans organic chicken broth
- 1-14.5 oz. can organic beef broth
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1/2 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1-14 oz. can green beans
- 1-4oz. can mushrooms, optional
- 1-2.25 oz. can black olives, optional
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon tarragon
- 3-cups carrots, diced
- 2-cups celery, diced
- 2-cans diced tomatoes, italian, Mexican or any flavor you like
- salt, pepper, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or curry powder can be added for flavor

Combine all ingredients in a 10 qt. slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours, or until carrots are tender. Soup can be eaten several times a day. In fact, the more you eat the more weight you will lose if you substitute this soup for your regular meals.

About the Secret Ingredient: When you cook with acidic vegetables, such as tomatoes, they tend to over-power the flavors of the rest of your vegetables. To lower the acid levels in your soups, and allow for all flavors to come through, add 2-tablets of original Alka-Seltzer. This can be used in any soups or stews that have a high acidic content. Adding Alka-Seltzer to your soups isn't a magic ingredient for weight loss, but it sure does make the soup taste better.
I discovered using Alka-Seltzer when cooking high acidic foods when I was in college. I rented a room in a husband and wife's home that were from Nigeria, Africa. I would watch the wife Howa make soups, and noticed she often added what looked like slivers of a rock similar to Mica to her soups. I asked her what it was and she said she didn't know but where she lived it was sold in the markets in it's rock form. I asked if I could take a piece to the lab on campus and have it analyzed to find out what it's mineral make up was. I found out that it was calcium carbonate. The same ingredients of original Alka-Seltzer. From that day forward I have always used it in soups that contain tomatoes or other high acidic ingredients. It seems to quiet the acid down so that it doesn't over power the rest of your soup's ingredients. It also keeps me from getting heart-burn.
