Candy Bra

Recently I have been seeing this a lot on the news across the internet and in magazines. It may be a fad, it may be a growing fashion, who really knows. what am I talking about you may ask? People making food into clothing!

If it is a fashion statement or just a novelty you be the judge. I will say this though, there are very elaborately made pieces of clothing and it certainly defies the boundaries of what one would think is possible to make from food. Have a look at the pictures.

The top picture is a bread dress of course for anyone who has dreamed of wearing more carbs than they could probably eat at one time this saucy ensemble large puffy loaf sleeves and a flatbread handbag.

To the right top you will find a shoe unlikely to ever be released as a Nike roduct. That of a burger shoe. Really who comes up with these things. I have to give him a thumb up for a oringinality though. I would imagine this bra would get pretty sticky under someones clothing after a good sweat.

To the lower right you will also find a candy bra. It appears to be made primarily of jube jubes and a few other types of candies. I would imagine this bra would get pretty sticky after a food sweat.

Above you will find the highest in culinary and fashion delights rolledd into one. A chocolate layered dress. I'd be more inclined to say it looks good enough to eat but not so much to wear but to each his or her own.

To the right we see what one can accomplish with bananas and a large amount of waffles. Pants and a vest! It is interesting how they connected the waffles so well to make the pants. Custom clothing at it's finest.

Below to the left we can see yet another chocolate dress. This one is a little more of a busty number, Oh la la! A german design this one is made to be worn.

Immediately below we see celebrities getting into the act. One shouldn't be surprised as it is Lady Gaga wearing a meat dress no less. No really sure if it is real meat or faux meat, assuming faux, celebrities are always gung ho about animal rights it seems a little unlikely tht she would drape herself in sawed up cow parts.

Last but not least my personal favorite at the very bottom is a fruit roll-up vest. Mmmm, I can almost taste the fruit roll-up now.

If you want to forward this article to others I encourage it. Use the facebook, twitter or Google+1, link at the top of the page or click the share button at the bottom of the page for other social networks. Hopefully this will make a few people smile.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 04, 2011:

mary615 - lol, that sounds like it would be pretty funny to see, your dog hanging by its teeth from the back of Lady Gaga's dress trying to take a bite.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 04, 2011:

natures47friend - yes she could declare steaks for all! and they could slice up her dress and have a barbeque! he he

Mary Hyatt from Florida on December 03, 2011:

My little dog, Baby, would be following Lady Gaga around trying to eat her dress!! She can come up with some "different" outfits that's for sure.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 03, 2011:

Derdriu - well that Nike's might work not sure how they could pull off high heels, lol.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 02, 2011:

chander mehra - not sure I would want to eat them all though.

natures47friend from Sunny Art Deco Napier, New Zealand. on December 02, 2011:

This is hilarious! If the chocolate dress did not melt first the wearer would not be able to stop the constant breaking off and sampling! I wonder if Lady Gaga smelled a bit and had flies after her. She would not be able to wear that dress again but could invite a few guests to help eat it, I guess! lol

up & funny.

I love the fruit roll ups, that is a garment I could nibble at!

Derdriu on December 02, 2011:

terrektwo: Other than the poof sleeves, the bread dress is in a style that I wouldn't mind wearing. They accessorized with the handbag. What would they do for shoes? Perhaps the Nikes would work!

Thank you, voted up, etc.,

Derdriu

Becky Katz from Hereford, AZ on December 01, 2011:

I do not understand it and I think she is really strange but I did find out why she wore it. Doesn't have any relevance to me.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 01, 2011:

Jools99 - yes she has some very unusual outfits that is for sure.

Voted up and awesome.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 01, 2011:

tammyswallow - I understand.

ChuckG on December 01, 2011:

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 01, 2011:

Becky Katz - Gaga is pretty strange, still not really understanding the meat dress?

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 01, 2011:

he he well the fruit roll-up one is a vest though but very true it is probably tasty learntolive

Candle Hour (author) from North America on December 01, 2011:

Claudia Tello - clothing made of paper that does sound cool! Candy Bra, lol, yeah that one would be cool to own but not sure it would be good for anyone to wear.

Movie Master from United Kingdom on December 01, 2011:

This was weird, but fasinating stuff, voted up!

Jools Hogg from North-East UK on December 01, 2011:

Gaga's steak dress...yuk, I bet it wasn't pleasant to sit in and a bit slimy by the end of the night. What will she wear next I wonder.

emichael from New Orleans on December 01, 2011:

Hah. This is great. Lady Gaga is nuts-o.

Carolyn Sands from Hollywood Florida on December 01, 2011:

Tammy from North Carolina on December 01, 2011:

Strange.. yet I couldn't look away.. Wow.

Becky Katz from Hereford, AZ on November 30, 2011:

I got curious and looked it up. She wore it to the VMA's, walking with gay and lesbian military protesting the 'Don't ask, don't tell policy.'

Becky Katz from Hereford, AZ on November 30, 2011:

Cute hub. For your information, Gaga's meat dress was really meat. She was protesting something but I can't remember what that was. It might have been gay rights. She is definitely strange. She wore it to an awards show.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on November 30, 2011:

writer20 - Not sure maybe clothing made of cake and icecream? lol

Candle Hour (author) from North America on November 30, 2011:

Deborah Brooks - yes it is pretty weird. I suppose they look at it as art, but tasty too :)

learntolive on November 30, 2011:

Wow! That's amazing! The fruit roll up dress looks delicious and very pretty. I had to look at the caption to figure out what it was! Great hub :)

Claudia Tello from Mexico on November 30, 2011:

This reminds me of a fashion exhibition I went to in Madrid, where the clothes where made of paper. At first sight they appeared to be normal, but a closer look revealed the true nature of the dresses, which covered several decades of fashion. Something similar, but more natural-resources-conscious. I should actually publish a Hub with the photographs I took! Thanks for the idea!

I actually have to admit that I would love to have that candy bra, it's fantastic!

Joyce Haragsim from Southern Nevada on November 30, 2011:

Jeepers! what will they think of next.

Candle Hour (author) from North America on November 30, 2011:

gkanekoa - yes probably novelty, the gucci boots would probably not go with this.

Deborah Brooks Langford from Brownsville,TX on November 30, 2011:

gkanekoa on November 30, 2011:

OMG. MeetGaga. This is definitely a novelty. I hope. This will not match with my Gucci boots.
