Black Tea Recipe
Rajan loves cooking dishes from his native Indian cuisine. He enjoys sharing his favourite recipes with his online readers.
Next to water, black tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. It is made from the leaves of the plant Camelia sinensis. It is rich in various plant polyphenols and catechins which are powerful antioxidants as well as caffeine.
Some health benefits attributed to black tea include: improved gut health, more alertness and energy, improved metabolism, lowered risk for heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol and cancer.
It is a fully oxidized tea unlike green tea whose leaves are not oxidized. Black tea can be drunk hot or cold with or without sugar. It is steeped in hot water before it is cooled.
Here is my recipe to prepare black tea. Try it and give your feedback.
