Bear Creek Clam Chowder or Potato Soup with Clams
I neglected to take a picture of the bowl of soup.
Ingredients
- butter
- onion
- milk
- water
- canned clams with water
- clam chowder
- mrs. dash garlic and herb
- ground black pepper
Start by melting butter in a large kettle, and sauteing the diced onions while you open the cans of clams and get your water measured up. The recipe on the back of the bag asks for eight cups of water. I didn't do that. I measured up four cups.
Yes. I used 4 cups of water and 4 cups of milk. This was added to the browned onions and butter.The mixture needs to heated up on a little bit hotter burner so it can come to a rolling boil.
A rolling boil is visually a violent boil.
Add the soup mix to the milk, water, onion mixture.
Add Mrs. Dash for extra flavor. A little ground peppercorns. Stir. Add clams.
Bring to a boil. Lightly boil for 15 minutes.
Mixture thickens.
