Acorn Squash - Baked and Sweet

Caramelized to Perfection

acorn-squash-baked-and-sweet

I would describe the flavor as a combination of things. The flavor is slightly bland sweet. Almost nutty. The texture is string like. I baked it with butter and brown sugar, so that gives it a caramel like flavor.

I was told that people either scoop out the inside, cut inside into cubes, or, eat inside with outside.

I tried a bite with and without the skin. Both equally as good.

Ingredients

  • acorn squash, cut in half
  • butter
  • brown sugar

Cutting in half requires a firm grip and a sharp knife.

Once cut, the seeds and pulp are removed.

Note:

I washed my seeds, dried them. Sprinkled them with olive oil and Mrs. Dash no-salt seasoning. I baked them for 15 minutes. Wait until they pop...
