Try this recipe for a quick and delicious Sangria!
- 1 Bottle Merlot or other Red Wine
- 1/3 Cup Brandy
- 1/3 Cup Light Rum
- 1 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
- 2/3 Cup sugar
- 3 Cups Chilled Seltzer Water
- 1 Blood Orange
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Nectarine
- 1/4 Cup Large Basil Leaves
- 1 Diced Apple (Optional)
Cut the orange and lemon into wheels and slice the nectarine into skinny wedges and set aside. In a large pitcher or sun tea jar, mottle the basil leaves with a wooden spoon and combine with the red wine, brandy, rum, orange juice, sugar and fruit. Stir to dissolve sugar and place covered in the fridge for at least an hour. Add the sliced orange, lemon and necterine and stir. Right before serving, add the seltzer water. Garnish with lemon twists or mint sprigs and enjoy!
