5 Types of Healthy Juices You Must Try at Home

Miriam is an enthusiastic cook. At 13 years old she would bake cakes for her young siblings and parents and they loved them.

5-types-of-juices-you-must-try-at-home

Banana - Peanut juice

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 3 tablespoon peanut (Roasted)

Method

Wash the bananas and peel them. Cut into four pieces.

Put the cut bananas and the peanuts in a blender. Add some water for easy blending. Do not put a lot of water, put 1/4 of a cup. Blend for 1 minute. Put a small amount of the juice in a cup and taste if the nuts are fully blended. The juice is good even if the peanuts are not fully broken. If you love that crunchy feeling in your mouth do not blend the nuts until they are fully broken. If you love smooth juice then blend a few more seconds until you get the smoothness that you desire.

Bananas are very sugary, there is no need of adding honey or sugar. Serve the juice immediately since bananas tend to change their colour when exposed to air for some time, if you love ice, dip some ice cubes in the glass of juice and enjoy. Alternatively, blend the ice cubes together with the banana and peanuts. For this recipe put two pieces of ice cubes. If you are making juice for many people, multiply the recipe by two or three. The recipe I have given is for two people.

If you love peanuts, try doubling the peanuts or triple and see the outcome. You will love this recipe.

Mango - Peanut juice

Ingredients

  • 2 mangoes
  • 4 tablespoon peanuts
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Method

Wash the mangoes. Peel them and cut them into small pieces. Put them in a blender together with the peanuts. Blend until you get a smooth consistency for one minute 30 seconds. Serve with ice cubes if you love them. You can also refrigerate for 30 - 40 minutes before serving. Mango juice can stay frozen if you do not want to serve it immediately. Try another recipe by adding/reducing the number of peanuts, and see how the results will be. If you want it sweeter, add a tablespoon of honey. Enjoy.

Avocado - Mango - peanut juice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1 Mango
  • 5 tablespoon peanuts
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Method

Wash the mango and avocado. Peel them and cut them into small pieces. Put them in a blender together with the peanuts. Blend until you get the right consistency. The reason why we have added mango is to give it some sweetness. If you need it sweeter, add a tablespoon of honey or sugar. We do not encourage the use of sugar so use it sparingly.

Carrot - Mango - peanut juice

Ingredients

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 Mango
  • 4 tablespoon peanuts
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Method

Wash the carrot and the mango. Peel the mango and carrot. The carrot can also be used without peeling. This depends on you. Cut the carrot into small pieces. Blend it first until you get a smooth consistency. Add some water for easy blending. Put in a separate jug and sieve. If you like you can use it without sieving, but if you want a smooth juice sieve it first. Take the mango and the peanuts and blend with some water. Blend until smooth or if you love it crunchy do not blend for long. Once you get the right consistency, add the carrot juice and blend to mix the well.

Serve it immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Try to play with the recipe and have more fun experimenting. Put some honey or sugar to get the sweetness you desire. Enjoy.

Pawpaw - Avocado juice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pawpaw
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 5 tablespoon peanuts
  • Honey to taste (optional)

Method

Wash the pawpaw and the avocado. Peel them and cut them into small pieces. Put them in a blender and blend for 45 seconds or one minute if you want a smooth consistency. Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Try experimenting with more peanuts and enjoy the journey of keeping healthy.

Tip

Blending time depends on the type of blender. There are powerful blenders whereby you just blend in 30 seconds and the work is done. Study your blender and try to estimate how much time your blender gets to get a smooth Consistency.

Honey is usually preferred to sugar. Honey has health benefits to the body, unlike sugar. If there is no access to honey, try to use the unprocessed sugar. This is more so for elderly and ailing persons.
