Letter K: Alphabet Activities for Kids
Fun With Letter K!
From Knitting Kittens to Kissing Kangaroos, there are plenty of projects to help your little one learn the letter K!
We ate Kit Kats and Kielbasa, we watched videos on letter K, and compared Australian animals.
There are links to the worksheets I made, as well as plenty of other free printables from around the web.
Alphabet Food and Snacks - I always incorporate at least the gummies into our letter days.
These foods are a fun way to incorporate letters into any Alphabet Activity Day! You could serve them the way they are, and make a game of finding the letter you're focusing on. Or you could be all OCD like me, and actually separate out all the As, Bs, and Cs, etc., put them in little baggies and only serve one letter at a time, to help strengthen recognition.

Adding the K to our activity binder!
Letter Sorting: K is for Keys
For this one, I pre-cut two keys, and cut out the capital and lowercase Ks in small squares. Big Ks went on one key, and little Ks on the other.
K is for King
We went simple for this one. She made her K into a king with craft jewels and a small crown cut from construction paper.
K is for Kitten
For this project, my daughter glued a cat face, tail, and feet to a lowercase K.
Have you run out of construction paper yet? - I run out of it often. :)
K is for Kick
This was a simple concept but really fun for the girls. I taped some Ks I cut from construction paper to a small soccer ball and a beach ball.
Then we "Kicked" the balls around the house. A great way to keep them both active on a rainy day.
K is for Kangaroo, Koala, Kiwi, Kookaburra, & Kowari
My daughter had a lot of fun with this. I printed all these pictures of Australian animals that started with the letter K. Then I had my daughter arrange them from biggest to smallest and vice versa. She's mix them up and do it again.

K is for Kitten Knitting
My daughter loves doing worksheets where she gets to trace paths, so I try to make them for every letter now. She also circled the Ks in the title.

K is for Kooky Kites
Another worksheet for tracing paths.

K is for Karate
This worksheet is for matching the karate black belts with their shadows.
My daughter started drawing lines quickly before actually looking at the pictures, so I had to point out things like, "we have to see which shadow has the same shape. Look at where this arm is. Which shadow is the same shape with his arm in that same place?"
But once she started actually looking at the shapes, she was able to match them by herself.

K is for Koi
This one is just a fun, colorful matching worksheet.

K is for Kangaroo Kisses
My daughter just really loves the color matching. I don't always make as many of these for each letter, but I had so many ideas for letter K!

K is for Kit Kats
You could use regular Kit Kats for this, too, but I thought the minis would be fun.
All I did was draw a K on a napkin and let my 3-year-old try to shape a K out of the chocolate while the 18-month-old kept trying to jump out of my arms and grab all the candy.
K is for Kielbasa Kebobs
This was a really good dinner. It was actually make with Eckrich Polska Kielbasa, so I made sure to let my daughter point out all the Ks on the package before I opened it.
I threaded kielbasa slices and pineapple pieces on skewers and cooked the kabobs on a grill pan on the stove.
And that's not grease you see in the photo - it's pineapple juice.
Trust me, kielbasa pieces sauteed in caramelized pineapple juice: yum!
