Christian Parents, God Is Your CEO

I am a certified Minister and CEO & the founder of Woman Under Construction for God's Purpose. I love to inspire others to seek God.

Why is God your CEO?

As Christian parents, we have a responsibility to be in a relationship with our heavenly father. We live by his commands. Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

As parents, we need to know that God is the one in charge. He says in Jeremiah 29:11 that he already knows the plan that he has for us. This not only includes you as a parent. It also applies to your entire family. He goes on to let us know that those plans are to prosper us and not harm us. I believe that God as our father even in this verse wanted to let us know that a parent should always desire for their entire family those things that prosper them but keep their feet from danger. He goes on to say that he wants to give us hope and a future. As parents we should always be hopeful. We should aspire to show our children how to be hopeful in the future that God has for them. Don't be a dream killer be a dream maker.

I have seen parents kill their children's dreams before they even get started. They kill them with words like "you will never be successful doing that" or "you can't make any money doing that". How do you know that? Stop to pray if you have suddenly realized that your hope for what God can do has diminished. Seek direction from your CEO Christ Jesus.

Understanding that God is the CEO will remove a weight from your shoulders. It will allow you to understand that he is the master planner. Working in corporate America helped me see God as the CEO. He holds the vision in his hand.

In the world the executives who report to the CEO know that he is in charge. His success depends on how well his executives communicate with him. He holds meetings with the key players. Those key players hold meetings with their key players. The message keeps trickling down from the top so that everyone has a clear vision of what needs to be done. Flawless execution of the vision lies in everyone having a clear understanding of the vision. This creates momentum. People get excited.

As parents we are God's executives. We have a responsibility to meet with God our CEO, so that he can communicate the vision he has for our lives. Not just our lives but also the lives of our family members. It is our communication that lets God know how well we are executing the vision. It is your responsibility as parents to then trickle down that vision to your family. Get them excited about the plan God has for their lives. Help them gain momentum, so that they can achieve all God has for them. God should be more attractive to them then the things of the world.

I know some may say if God knows everything why do we need to talk with him? It's a great question. The answer is so simple. God desires to be close to us just like maybe you mom, dad, brother, sister, friend etc. You talk to them. It is the same with God. Yes he knows everything, but he loves to hear from you. God plants the vision in your life, your children's lives, even those of your family members lives. Being in communication with God provides you with the revelation of how to execute the vision. Knowing that he is the CEO of your existence. That His vision for you is for your betterment provides a foundation of trust between you and the God as your CEO. His desire is always to reward his children. But you need to be aligned with the vision in order for him to be able to move you into position, so you can receive the blessings he has for you.

What Christians Need to Know to be a Great Parent Executive

  1. Know your role. God is the CEO. You are the executive Parent. Stay in your lane.
  2. Make sure that you talk to God daily. We serve a God who desires to be in relationship with us. In order for you to cultivate that relationship communication with God is key. The only way you will know the will of God is to talk to God. Your children are relying on you to steer them in the direction of their purpose. You can't do that if you are not in relationship with God.
  3. Believe in the vision God has revealed to you. If God tells you that your son/daughter is going to be evangelist believe it. God does not lie.
  4. Once the vision is clear start executing it. God provides the vision but you are the one who must bring it to life. The vision for your children depends on your ability to execute the plan God has given you.
  5. Know that you will make mistakes in the execution of the plan. No one is perfect. We all fall short of the Glory of God. The wonderful thing about having God as your CEO is that he is there to pick you up when you fall. When things don't seem to be going according to the plan reach out to God for guidance.
  6. Last but certainly not least pray and pray some more. You have twenty four hour access to the best CEO in the world.

Stop Waiting for the Pink Slip. God is Not Going to Fire You.

Unlike the world God does not look at you as just another number. God may correct you in love but he is never going to fire you. God covers you with his mercy and grace. He is your rock. Your fortress. It is great to know that with God as your CEO your foundation can't be shaken.

Communicating with the CEO is Key to Answered Prayers

Life is busy. Required to spend more time at work.

God, I want to be able to spend more time with you. With my family. Now I have to work extra hours. Lord open the door for another job or transfer.

I hear you. I will make a way for you even in the darkness. In other words don't worry I have a plan.

Mom/Dad the kids in school are going to the dance. Can I go.

Lord I need direction. My son/daughter wants to go to the dance at school. Should I let them go?

Trust that I will keep them and protect them. In order to cover them continue to pray.

Thank you Liztalton. I am thankful that it has provided you with a different view. We all go through tough times but hanging on to God's word provides us with the peace to know it will pass. The strength to know we can go on. The hope that tomorrow joy comes in the morning.

Great hub! I love how you mention Jeremiah 29:11. I remember this verse daily when I'm going through a hard time and I feel my life is out of control. Thank you for your view of God being the CEO!
