List Of Family Relation Names And Their Meanings
They say that we are all related somehow. But family relation have specific connections and meanings. Here is a list of most family relations and their meanings. The taboo section however not widely mentioned does exist. Many times it is kept quiet. It is dominant in many countries and the wealthy seems to have quite a foot in making this list.
Mother and Father Relations
- Father (Biological)
The male who had fertilized your mothers egg in order to make a child - Mother (Biological)
The Birth mother, the woman who brings a child from her womb to the world - Father (Step)
The male now married to a child's biological mother who is not the biological father of the child. Step actually means in this case "going down" a male taking up the father role of a child he did not biologically father. (Step down from being the real father) - Mother (Step)
The female now married to a child's biological father who is not the biological mother of the child. - Grandfather (Biological)
Father of the the child's father or mother - Grandmother (Biological)
Mother of the child's mother or father - Grand Father (Step)
Father of the stepmother or stepfather of the child - Grand Mother (Step)
Mother of the step mother or stepfather of the child - Father-in-Law
Biological father of the husband or wife of the spouse - "In Law" means relative by marriage - Mother-in-Law
Biological mother of the husband or wife of the spouse - "In Law" means relative by marriage - God Father
The man who serves as sponsor for a child, as at a baptism. Male assigned the responsibility of watching over a child or children if the biological parents or adoptive parents can no long care for the child/children. - God Mother
The woman who serves as sponsor for a child, as at a baptism. Female assigned the responsibility of watching over a child or children if the biological parents or adoptive parents can no long care for the child/children.

Non Biological sister of the child's biological mother or father - Cousin
Relation used to describe biological off springs of biological brother and brother, biological sister and sister or biological brother and sister. - Nephew
Term used to describe male offspring of a biological brother or sister to a biological brother or sister - Niece
Term used to describe female offspring of a biological brother or sister to a biological brother or sister

The list can be extended further but i chose to stop at the ones close to being immediate. Many of our family trees extend way beyond the boundaries of our walls and even country. As humans being all occupying one space which is planet earth i am sure that we are all connected somehow no matter culture nor race. Feel free to point out any other which can be added to this list or any mistakes in the meanings as i took this list from the top of my head.
