Your Mom Knows All About You! Do You?

You mom knows your likes, your dislikes, your friends and the things you worry about; even down to the spices you don't like added to the food. She knows it when you are feeling off and when you are feeling on top of the world. She can judge what's going on inside you, your mind and your heart, by just your voice.

But can you say the same for yourself? Do you know your mother deep down?

Do a bit of soul searching with some candid answers to some questions that I'm listing here. You might be in for a revelation! And maybe, if you are among those that need to know your mom better, this hub might just provide that impetus!

Read and benefit and make your relationship with your mom stronger and more loving, on this Mother's day.

So, here goes.

10 Questions That Need To Be Answered By Each One Of Us

  1. Where do you feel your mom would like to have a vacation for a few days?
  2. In her spare time, what does your mom like doing best?
  3. Do you know which is your mom's favorite movie?
  4. Which favorite thing does your mom always carry in her purse or handbag?
  5. Which ice cream flavor is your mom's favorite?
  6. Which is the thing that your mom always stops you from doing?
  7. How much time do you spend with your mom?
  8. When was it last time you had a hearty tete-a-tete with your mom and laugh to your heart's content? Is it days or months?
  9. What is that special thing that YOU do to make your mom's birthday special?
  10. When did you give your mom a gift? And how did she react on receiving your gift?

Not because Mothers day is close by, but to know how how well you know your mom, answer these questions in all honesty!

The relationship with your mother is unique whether you are a son or a daughter. To make this mother's day, a day devoted to celebrating the priceless relationship between a mother and her offspring, a special one for your mom and to fill her palette of love with a rainbow of colors, do that extra special which will make not only your mom remember this day, but make for happy memories for you, till times to come.

How well do you know your mom?

rajan, a lovely topic you chose and flashed a tiny list of only 10 things for sons/daughters to answer. I think, one must add more to it and thus make their bond with mothers /fathers more beautiful and lovable. This aspect is mostly untouched but the way you have highlighted it here is just fantastic. Most of us take our parents for granted and do not give the least attention to their actions and feelings. I sincerely wish this lovely hub to be read by billions of people. Thank you.

Rajan Singh Jolly (author) from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on October 03, 2013:

Thanks, Paul. Glad you like the hub. I wish I could also have spent more time with my mom and dad when they were alive. Unfortunately constraints of time and place do not allow us to do so many a time.

Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful hub which I really enjoyed reading. My mother passed away in 2011 after a hard struggle with Parkinson's disease. I like the questions you ask in this hub. I regret not being able to spend more time with my mother, especially after dad passed away seven years earlier. Voted up and sharing with followers. Also Pinning and sharing on Facebook.

Kathleen Cochran from Atlanta, Georgia on June 13, 2013:

What a beautiful picture of your wife and daughter embracing at her wedding. Good questions. Most of us draw so much from our mothers, but don't give her our interest and attention in return. I'd hate to answer your questions for fear I wouldn't know many of the answers.

Ruchira from United States on June 12, 2013:

wow...this was such a powerful hub.

You have a beautiful family, Rajan.

Jo Alexis-Hagues from Lincolnshire, U.K on June 12, 2013:

Rajan a wonderful tribute to mums, they give so much, generally asking very little in return. My mum would say 'just be happy' unfortunately, we lost her ten years ago, I spent the last four years of her life really getting to know her as a person, and not just as my mum; I will always be grateful for the time we had together.

Great hub.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on June 12, 2013:

Like you, I also lost my mother in 2010 and really miss her. This is a great hub to honor mothers everywhere...not just on Mother's Day or her birthday or a few special holidays or anniversaries. Thanks for sharing these family photos with us. Up votes and sharing.

@Mary-showing care and understanding is a cycle that completes itself when we have children and then this cycle keeps on repeating itself. I appreciate your read and votes. Thanks.

Kathryn, glad you like this article. It is a sort of a tribute to all moms and especially since this day reminds me of my mom whom I lost over 2 years back and whom I was very close to.

I'm glad you read this and I thank you for appreciating. Thanks a lot for sharing this ahead.

Kathryn from Windsor, Connecticut on May 12, 2013:

Somehow I missed this one, but I just saw it on G+. I always like your articles, but it is always interesting when you switch gears to a different topic.

It's very true that mom's know so much about us, and we should know a lot about her, as well. Those are some good questions to contemplate. I know my mom pretty well, and am close to her, and I am always seeking to remain close. A mother's love is a wonderful thing.

Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your own life, and photos of your family- they are beautiful, and look like they enjoy life.

Thank you for sharing this thoughtful piece with us. Voted up and sharing on this Mother's Day!

Great hub Rajan, moms are the best care provider. They never get tired of caring for their children; it’s an infinite love and devotion. Knowing what will make them smile should be considered by everyone. Happy mother’s day everyone! Got to give mom something special for this mother’s day, I been searching some cool ideas and gift suggestions from our fellow hubbers, It’s a difficult choice from or this one

C E Clark from North Texas on May 09, 2013:

Excellent suggestions for people to get to know their mothers better. What lovely photos you have of your mother, your wife, and your daughter, and it is so good of you to share them with all of us so that we get a peek into your life away from HP.

My mother was my best friend in the world. She died when I was 18.

Voted up, useful, and awesome! Will share.

Rajan Singh Jolly (author) from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on May 09, 2013:

@Bill-yes we take our mother's love for granted and so many a time we do not think about her as much as we ought to. We only realize this once she is no more with us and it's then all the realization sinks in. Thanks for stopping by.

@Joe-I'm glad you enjoyed all aspects of this small write up. I truly appreciate and value your friendship. Thank you so much for such heart warming comments.

All the very best to you and your family.

Aloha, my friend!

@Patricia-I'm glad to learn you knew you mom really well. I believe we all should. I believe we owe it to the person who gave us birth after enduring so much pain. Thanks for reading. God bless!

@Harsha-Thanks for reading and I truly appreciate it. We ought to be grateful to the one who has brought us to life sustaining us with her blood. I appreciate you saying that all mothers are worthy of respect as a mother is a mother, not an easy thing to be.

Thanks for stopping by, my friend.

Harsha Vardhana R from Bangalore on May 09, 2013:

It is nearly 2 years since she left for heavenly abode. Your writing just inspires me to feel more grateful and respect all mothers including animals.

Patricia Scott from North Central Florida on May 09, 2013:

Learning more about Mom will build a new depth to the relationship for sure. My Momma has been gone since 1991 and I miss her every day. She loved the land and soil and all of the bounties put forth from the earth. I think I knew her pretty well.

Rajan, this was a beautiful recess from what you normally write about. I'm so pleased and privileged to see photos of your wife and children as well as your mom. Your questions made me do a lot of thinking and soul-searching. Thank you very much, my friend, for making a very special point while inviting us to revel in the celebration of our mothers. Blessings and aloha to you, Rajan!

Bill De Giulio from Massachusetts on May 09, 2013:

Great hub rajan. We only get one mom in this life. Maybe many people take their mothers for granted, which might be why they know so much more about us than we do about them. Great reminder for everyone. Thank you.

Rajan Singh Jolly (author) from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on May 09, 2013:

@Bill-loved ones are always missed and moms all the more! I can emphasize with you, my friend; I lost my mom in 2010 and miss her more on this day.
