During the climax of the first part of Gloomy Sunday, Ilona, played by Erika Marozsan, wears a brown floral chiffon dress.
It has a cowl neckline and open short sleeves. It’s very soft, delicate, pretty and quite feminine.

Lady Marian from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
In Robin Hood; Princes of Thieves Lady Marian played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, attends mass. A lot happens during the church scenes. We see the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) flirt with her and gives her a knife, a Chekhov's gun seen throughout the movie and we see Robin Hood and the Sheriff’s first encounter.
During this memorable part, Marian wears a brown gown with a matching veil. The gown has some heavy embroidery along the sleeves.

Christine Daae's Slave Girl costume from The Phantom of the Opera
The first time we see Christine Daae, played by Emmy Rossum, in the 2004 version of The Phantom of the Opera, she is participating in dress rehearsal for Hannibal where she is to plays a slave girl in the ballet corps.
The costume consists of a midriff top with brown leather and a brown floral fabric. The Skirt has the same brown leather as a waistband and reddish-brown fabric make up the body of the skirt. It’s alluring without being vulgar.
While being a lovely costume, it's a costume within a production of a movie, so it doesn't reflect Christine's character but it does reflect her getting pulled out amongst the crowd to play the lead.

Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind
Reluctantly walking her baby down the street, Scarlett O'Hara, played by Vivien Leigh, wears a pink and brown striped gown.
It has an apron detail which sits over a pink skirt. However the bodice of the gown is shown more.
The dress has a high neckline with a pleated chiffon ruffle detail and bells sleeve with have the same pleated chiffon underneath.
It's a lovely costume that it's a shame it only seen in such a short scene.

The overdress portion is brown. It has a gold closure and gathered sleeves. The brown and purple is a lovely combination.

The first time we see Lizzie Bennet, played by Keira Knightley, in the 2005 Pride & Prejudice she is wearing a simple brown dress.
The bodice has a sheer overlay with pin tuck details. The neckline is a deep scoop and it's an empire silhouette. It's a sedate dress but subtle detail makes it pretty.
It has a carefree laid back pastoral vibe to it which makes the perfect dress for Lizzie's introduction is this wonderful version of Pride & Prejudice.

Princess Leia Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
One of Princess Leia's, played by Carrie Fisher, more beloved costumes from Original Saga of Star Wars is the first she wears a color other that white and is a casual look for her. It's the costume she wears in Cloud City on Bespin towards the end of the movie.
This costume is comprised of a brown tunic and pants with a matching brown cinch waistband. Over it there is a grey sleeveless robe. The robe is made from a curtain and has embroidered flowers on it and as padded collar.
This costume has slightly more romantic aesthetic than her previous costumes which is a perfect choice as she is more accepting of her feelings towards Han at this point in the movie.

Eowyn from The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Often called “The Beacon dress" this costume of Eowyn's, played by Miranda Otto, in The Lord of the Rings is only shown for a moment.
It’s made of a rich brown velvet. It has a wide v-neck. The sleeves and neckline are trimmed in an orange fabric. The dress is finished off with a leather belt at the waist.

he dress has a wide collars and sleeves with three puffs and a ruffle cuffs. It also has a belt at the waist. It's a beautiful yet relaxed Victorian dress.

Ada Monroe from Cold Mountain
This simple yet lovely dress worn by Ada Monroe, played by Nicole Kidman, in Cold Mountain is both quite elegant and casual.
It’s made for moire silk also referred to as water silk because of the pattern. Moire Silk is typically used for more formal gown but here the pattern is cut on the bias which makes the effect more subtle but still lovely.
The buttons on the front of the bodice look like jewels. The neckline is a wide yet high neck-line which is very flattering. The sleeves are puffed and there is a gold ribbon at the shoulder.
The dress has a lot of subtle details that make it feel like a formal gown instead of something less formal.
