My name is Onyx and I enjoy watching movies. What I enjoy more is talking about the movies I have seen is which why I review movies.

Those Who Wish Me Dead

Seemed like a waste of time.

Sighhhhh. I did not enjoy this movie. But if I am being honest I didn't expect a lot from it. I don't know why but I just knew it wasn't going to be all that good. Didn't think it would be boring tho. I know a lot of people love action movies, I do too but a good plot is needed even in an action movie unless its just people running and shooting or fighting.

At first, I thought "probably has a very slow start so I'll just keep going" but it never kicked up for me. Mind you, I wasn't tired or sleepy before I started and during the movie I didn't feel sleepy either but I could not wait for it to end. I kept checking. And you might feel like a was a little bit hyped about it because of Angelina Jolie (who is an amazing actress, I must say) but no. I didn't think it would be mind blowing, Infact I didn't have any thoughts before I saw it. I wanted to just see it and I was so bored that I wish I didn't start at all

There were a lot of plot holes apart from the fact that it was kinda cliché. I don't want to drop spoilers but how did she keep on not dying?? Then the boy was just supposed to keep running if he didn't meet her. Also it looked like quite a distance before they got to the fire and when they had to go back, they just went back like so easily. Also why did the Sheriff guy immediately get agitated just to be pinned down again?? Or did I miss something?? I didn't get a lot of things going on, the plot wasn't really clear.

A good plot is very necessary for an action movie unless its just people running, fighting or shooting.

It seemed like everybody was as bored out as I was. Like they were tired lol. I was shocked to see Tyler Perry (not gonna lie) because I didn't expect him to be in a movie like that. It was just one scene and somehow I was so sure that that was the only time I would see him lol. There was no energy and this movie should have heard that. Angelina was good but I expected a lot more.

The story seemed very okay and interesting. I mean it's supposed to be interesting but it wasn't as engaging as it should be. And that is because it had bad execution. Heightened moments didn't seem heightened, relaxed times seemed too relaxed like is why is it so dull?. There was a huge fire and then there's a little boy running away from bad guys, why am I not feeling that??

This movie was supposed to be emotional in some parts but I didn't get that in those parts. It seemed missing completely. There should have been a right balance of all the emotions that would have connected to the viewer.

I feel like there was a lot of space that could have been used to build more on the plot and then the characters. The entire movie felt very empty to me and that's why i gave it a 5/10. I think that's very fair tbh.

I had a favorite scene though (I mean why shouldn't i). It was the one with the pregnant lady trying to fight off the bad guys and escape. It was interesting and seemed very raw. Like you would get a little bit of that interest you came for. That was one cast I enjoyed.

If you guys see this movie, I'd like to hear your thoughts so please comment and let's talk. Thank you for reading, I really appreciate it. Till next time!!
