Buy An Invisibility Cloak
The world searches for the ultimate Harry Potter invisibility cloak and Museum Replicas provided one. They created a cloak that is made of a heavy velvet which features silk screened moons, stars and charms and a silky black lining. It was unique and it was expensive...I would love to see one in person.
Since I have not had the opportunity to see one, I turn to the available reviews, which are interesting, to say the least. Amazon customers who took the time to review it said things like they knew it worked when they opened the box and there was nothing inside; that it was nice looking but that they'd really rather it did not look like anything at all; and that they were thrilled when they received it but after disrobing carelessly, well you can guess what happened...
On this page find out where you can buy your own Cloak of Invisibility and learn a bit about whether it is actually scientifically possible to cloak oneself.
Harry Potter's Cloak of Invisibility by Museum Replicas
If you've misplaced YOUR Cloak of Invisibility, you should be concerned because it is going to be very difficult to replace. The officially licensed Museum Replica cloak, fashioned from a heavy velvet cloak with silk lining and a hand-finished silk-screened design, is near impossible to find. I've left an eBay search box here in case one becomes available on eBay. I've also left the link to Amazon on this page with the same hopes.
An Affordable Velvet Cape
Rubie's Costume cape is an affordable alternative to the Museum Replica invisibility cloak. Granted, it is not nearly as fancy but it is available for less than $20 as compared to the more than $1000 being asked as I write this for the Museum Replica version.

You Could (Maybe or Maybe Not) Make An Invisibility Cloak
Another alternative, if you are crafty or a seamstress, would be to make your own invisibility cloak. This post, however, points out just how difficult it would be to construct an invisibility cloak. How would you see the fabric? Do you have to buy special thread? The writer obviously had a lot of fun putting this post together.
Her story? Invisibility cloaks were on sale but this crafter needed not one but rather FIVE cloaks so she decided to craft her own. On her blog, she shares her pictures of the step-by-step process of crafting her cloaks. I am pretty sure it will make you smile.

Hallmark's Cloak of Invisibility Christmas Ornament
It used to be that owning your own cloak of invisibility was possible in the form of a Hallmark Christmas ornament. It is still possible. However that little Hallmark ornament is now very expensive. Harry Potter fans still love everything to do with the boy wizard and the prices reflect that on almost all of the merchandise including this decoration from the Sorcerer's Stone.

Haven't we all wished we could have an invisibility cloak? I can think of lots of great uses - to hide from people you'd like to avoid or to spy on someone you think may be up to no good!
Susan Deppner from Arkansas USA on November 13, 2011:
Wow, what a beautiful cloak! I'd probably tease my poor dog with it. Hmm. Does it make scents invisible? If not, I guess she'd find me anyway since she sees best with her nose!
