Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
When I seen the first remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), staring Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams, I couldn't help but stay on the edge of my seat.
This is a masterpiece of director Philip Kaufman and crafted by John Carpenter. Every part of this suspenseful science-fiction drama played on the emotions of its main characters, which deepen when co-workers and friends began to act strangely and non-emotional.
It all started when biologist Elizabeth Driscoll (Brooke Adams) brings a hybrid flowering pod home with her one night. Thinking it was a new type of flowering plant. She soon notices changes in her live-in boyfriend, Geoffrey (Art Hindle). He becomes cold and distant and not quite there. She turns to her friend Matthew Bennell (Donald Sutherland), a colleague at the Department of Public Health. But he is convince that she should seek help from his friend Dr. Kibner (Leonard Nimoy), a pop psychologist who argues that the problem is all in Elizabeth's head.
Soon Matthew and Elizabeth notice that people all over the city were indifferent.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Great Price for classic horror movies
This collection not only has the 1978 movie version, starting Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams, it contains two other classic horror movies. The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the War Of The Worlds, The (1953. No better collection of movies than this.
The Invasion of the Body Snatchers I like best
The 1978 remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers is better than the original movie set back in 1956. I usually hate remakes, but this is a thriller that keeps you on your seats. I remember watching this and saying to myself and to the characters on the screen, "Don't fall asleep!"
John Carpenter has crafted this movie into a masterpiece that no other remake of it surpasses.
Go ahead, disagree. I dare you.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers is the best movie ever.

Do you believe that pod people exist?
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
I have seen the original and the remakes. This is my favorite of all the Body Snatcher movies. The other remakes are worth seeing as well.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (9/12) Movie CLIP - Escaping Kibner (1978)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Sci-fi movies of the 1950s were either good or extremely corny. When I seen the 1978 movie, I didn't know at the time that it was a remake. Not until I seen this one afterwards on TV. The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) is superbly acted and convincing movie.
I get tired of seeing one remake after another. But these movies are better than the expected remakes. The Strange Invaders (1983 parody), is made on cheap film. It was OK to watch one time. But that is my opinion.

Invasion of the Avatar Snatchers - Megan Casey Has Clones
Invasion of the Avatar Snatchers
Once upon a time, when there was a social network writing site called Squidoo, many changes with the site design was evolving.
2009 is the year that Squidoo had evolved with many changes. But with changes comes strange sightings. The first sighting showed up on August 9, 2009. Many avatars were replaced with pictures of Megan Casey, Editor in Chief (at that time).
When I went into my lenses (as articles were called there) and writings from other writers on the Squidoo site, their avatars were snatched and cloned to look like Megan. (An obvious glitch in the system that had gotten fixed later on.)
At the time these questions were asked:
Are there aliens among us?
Are there Megan Casey pod people?
Afterwards, my avatar turned into a pipe that says, "This is not a Megan." Where had that one came from, is beyond me. My avatar on Squidoo was a spider with a human head.
Once all the bugs were worked out with Squidoo, our avatars changed back to normal. Sure it was an invasion of avatar snatchers.
More scary stuff

Sandy, I highly recommend a dystopian fiction book titled "Agenda-21" to get a grasp of just what the UN has planned for their New World Order and hope you are aware of the Georgia Guidestones and hundreds of thousands of FEMA coffin/crematories stockpiled mostly in Georgia where execution by guillotine is a possibility.

Sgt Prepper that is some pretty heavy stuff. I would not say that Obama is the Antichrist, but I have to agree with you that we have a corrupt world and it is only getting worse.
Gunny Cracker from Elkhorn, WI on August 21, 2015:
I have recently watched all of the movie versions and read the book Invasion of the Bodysnatchers(latest printing). It is a reasonable expression of exactly what is happening on earth. Fallen angels and demons are taking over the world. Devil-worshippers/Luciferians have infiltrated the governments, churches, banks and corporations through The Illuminati(Jesuits, Zionists, Talmudic Jews, Skull&Bones, IMF, Bildebergs, Bohemian Grovers, Freemasons, etc). They are all working in combination to build the New World Order for the devil. The Bush-family, the Clintons, Kissinger, lefthanded Kerry & Kenyan-born Obama are ALL reading from the same script. Expect False Prophet Pope Francis to address the UN at the official launch of the 2030-Project i.e. NWO in September!
I hate Big Brother Obama the Antichrist.

I haven't seen all the Snatcher movies but I did see the '78 remake. It was pretty scary at the time. Don't know what i'd think of it now.
So far, touch wood, I don't seem to have been snatched by Megan.

Senior's Moment...I can't remember if I saw the movie or not, lol! I do remember that I'm not seeing things with the avatars changing back and forth. Today, you are Sandy the beautiful Spider. :)

I have never in my life seen a Body Snatchers movie ... but I have seen the avatar snatchers. Matter of fact, at this moment, you're lookin' JUST like Megan again. I do miss the spider with the human head, though.
