Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince Blu-ray Movie Review
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Movie Review
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is my favorite Harry Potter movie although I would have to admit that I do not remember exactly how I felt after watching the first one. I just know that I really enjoyed the humour and adolescent issues in this, the sixth movie. Of course, it was also brilliantly produced and shows magnificently on my HDTV and blu-ray player.
This page will share with you some basic information about the movie including the different blu-ray and DVD choices that you have. (Like the somewhat frightening Limited Edition Death Eater Case shown here.) This page will also share my review, reviews by more ordinary movie viewers like you and I and reviews by the experts. I hope you find this information useful in deciding whether or not you should own Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince..

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Description from Amazon
"As Lord Voldemort tightens his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds, Hogwarts is no longer a safe haven. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Even as the decisive showdown looms, romance blossoms for Harry, Ron, Hermione and their classmates. Love is in the air, but danger lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again."

Amazon Customer Reviews of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
As always, I am a big fan of Amazon customer reviews for this movie. I believe that reading what 'real' people (ordinary movie viewers) think of movies is a good indication of whether or not YOU will liike a movie. You should be aware that there are negative reviews of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince but also that the positive ones are glowing.
M. Potter thought the movie makers did a great job and reminds us that you cannot recreate an entire book in a movie. (How true!) Barbara G. Jones is a 65-year old who was proud to add this movie to her collection and is also glad that this film speaks to all generations. Mother of One highly recommends WATCHING this movie but also recommends READING the book. Finally, Amazon customer reviewer Animal Lover recommends it for its sheer entertainment value.

Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince Rated
This movie is NOT suitable for young children.
Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince has scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality in the form of 'snogging' (as J.K. Rowling calls teen kissing.) It also has drinking of potions that causes intoxication; gross and disturbing scenes; and, peril and violence with zombie-like creatures. This movie is not for your young children.
Who is it for? The previous two Harry Potter movies were rated PG-13 but this one is rated PG, which seems a bit mild. The Movie Mom rates it for middle schoolers and that seems more appropriate. It is a dark and disturbing tale. Common Sense Media rated it for children 12 years old and up and they summed it up nicely when they said, "Terrific but intense mix of love, friendship, fear, sorrow."

Have You Seen Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?
grannysage on December 22, 2011:
I just watched it again the other day. Amazing how many details you can forget (or is it just me?). I love all the Harry Potter movies. When we went to see Dark Hallows Part 1, there was a young boy next to us explaining to his father who all the characters were and what they were doing. It was delightful to hear his enthusiasm. My husband had brought a wand with him (never know when you might need one) and after the movie he asked the father if he could give it to the boy. The father responded, "the wand picks the wizard." Just how cool is that. I think J.K. Rowling has given us a great gift by creating this imaginary world.
