Notre Dame de Paris is a French musical and was created by Richard Cocciante and Luc Plamondon.
Frollo is a priest who studies science. Science and religion are are his great loves until he met Esmeralda.
Frollo is very tormented by his infatuation for Esmeralda. Frollo was proud that he was above earthly emotions so to fall 'love" and to be a priest prove too overwhelming for him. He also fears that his desire is turning him into a criminal and that he'll die in his passion for her and though he losing control he feels no remorse about it.

Daniel Lavoie Played Frollo in the Original French Cast and in the 2016 Tour.

Since his first run in Notre Dame de Paris, he has released serveal albums, written songs, and in 2005 he performed in Le Petite Prince in Paris. He also reprise his role as Frollo in the 2000 London Production of Notre dame de Paris.
Lavoie's acting is very retained and methodical. Lavoie is very expressive in his voice and eyes, and his internal conflict is apparent. He never seems to know what to do with his hands and this gives him a vulnerability which not seen in many renditions of the character.
In December 2010 Lavoie and the rest of the original cast did a reunion concert in Kiev, Moscow, and St Petersburg.
In Decemeber 2011 Lavoie and the rest of the original cast performed another concert in France.
He again reprised his role as Frollo in the 2016 French language World Tour that is currently still going on.
