Fox News has obviously had a massive impact on the media landscape of the 21st century, but less obvious is the fact that its female anchors have broken gender barriers in the industry by offering a platform for women as news reporters and anchors. Fox News' female contributors should be celebrated for inspiring young women to pursue careers in journalism.

This article highlights a dozen of the channel's most captivating anchors. Though listed in numerical order, this isn't a ranking. Please enjoy!

She clerked for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas prior to becoming a defense attorney in New York City. She's also a breast cancer survivor, bestselling author, and hosts "The Laura Ingraham Show" as both a radio program and podcast.

2. Molly Line

Molly Line joined Fox News as a Boston-based correspondent in January 2006 and serves as a rotating host on "Fox News Live." Her Twitter profile also confirms her role as a Fox News Channel Correspondent.

Courtney Friel

Courtney Friel

3. Courtney Friel

Courtney Friel worked at Fox News as a national correspondent in 2007. She covered entertainment for KTTV in Los Angeles (owned by Fox) and contributed to entertainment programs for FoxNews.com.

Courtney was born in 1980 and grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She earned a degree in political science at San Diego State before working on television for numerous network programs. In 2003, she became the news anchor at a TV station in Jackson, Tennessee, and currently works as a news anchor and reporter at KTLA in Los Angeles.

Amy Kellogg

Amy Kellogg

4. Amy Kellogg

Amy Kellogg is based in Milan, Italy, and is the courageous senior foreign affairs correspondent for Fox News, working for the channel since 1999.

She holds degrees in Russian studies from Brown and Stanford and is fluent in Russian, Spanish and French. She previously worked as a television reporter in Pennsylvania and Syracuse. She has reported from Iran, Chechnya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Poland, India and Africa.

5. Uma Pemmaraju

Uma Pemmeraju was on the original team when Fox News launched on October 7, 1996, thus becoming the first Indian-American news anchor. She initially hosted "Fox News Now" and "Fox On Trends," and even briefly left the network, but returned in 2003 to host several programs.

Uma was born in India in 1958. Her grandfather was a newspaper publisher in India, but her father, a research scientist, moved the family to San Antonio, Texas, in 1964. At the time, they were then the only Indians in the city! She received her degree in political science at Trinity University and worked in television news in Dallas and Boston prior to joining Fox News.

Tragically, Uma died on August 8, 2022, at the age of 64. A cause of death has not been released.

6. Harris Faulkner

Harris Faulkner is a six-time Emmy Award winner who currently anchors "The Faulkner Focus," a daily daytime show, and hosts "Outnumbered." She also hosts her own primetime political franchise called "Town Hall America with Harris Faulkner"

Born in Atlanta in 1965, Harris' father was a military aviator. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in mass communications, followed by work for local television news in Los Angeles, Greenville, South Carolina, and eight years in Kansas City.

She joined Fox News in 2005, saying:

"God doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the called. You only need to open your heart to prepare for His next assignment. Our goodness is measured by how we treat others who can't do anything for us."

7. Michelle Malkin

Michelle Malkin is a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist, bestselling author, one of the top 100 bloggers in the world, and an early political commentator for Fox News—though she left the channel in 2007.

Born in 1970, Michelle was reared in New Jersey, the daughter of Filipino immigrants. She graduated from Oberlin College, and then worked for the Los Angeles Times from 1992–94, followed by a stint at the Seattle Times. She has two children and lives in Colorado.

8. Lauren Green

Lauren Green has been the chief religion correspondent for Fox News since 1996. Born in 1963, she is from Minneapolis, where she was a gymnast in high school. Lauren majored in music at the University of Minnesota, and is a well known concert pianist and recording artist.

She became the first Black Miss Minnesota in 1984, and went on to win both the swimsuit and talent competitions in the 1985 Miss America pageant. Lauren worked in local news in Minneapolis and Chicago before joining the fledgling Fox News Network in '96.

9. Julie Banderas

Julie Banderas joined Fox News in 2005 as a general assignment reporter and has since served in various roles, including hosting "Fox Report Weekend" before moving to a weekday anchor role.

Julie was born in 1970 to Howard Bidwell of the Connecticut Bidwells, and Fabiola Bidwell, who is originally from Colombia. She earned a degree from Emerson College in Boston and went to work in television news in Connecticut, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York City.

10. Alisyn Camerota

Alisyn Camerota was my favorite Fox News anchor for a longtime because of her wit and winsomeness. She worked at Fox News from 1998 to 2014, when she left to work at CNN.

Born in 1966, Alisyn grew up in New Jersey and earned a degree in broadcast journalism at American University in Washington, D.C. She worked for local television news programs in Washington and Boston before landing a gig with America's Most Wanted.

Megyn Kelly joined Fox News in 2004 as a Washington, D.C. correspondent. She co-anchored "America’s Newsroom" in 2006, anchored "America Live" in 2010, and anchored "The Kelly File" in 2013. In January 2017, she left Fox News to join NBC News, where she stayed for two years. She then started hosting "The Megyn Kelly Show" podcast, which premiered in September 2020.

Born in 1970, Megyn was another of my favorite Fox ladies because she's brilliant and forceful. She has a degree in political science from Syracuse University, earned her J.D. at Albany Law School, and served as editor of Albany Law Review. Shen then became a corporate litigator in Washington, New York, and Chicago.

12. Shannon Bream

My favorite lady on Fox is Shannon Bream, who has been with the network since November 2007. She is the anchor of "Fox News Sunday" and Chief Legal Correspondent for Fox News. The first time I saw her I thought, "This woman is going to be a big star."

She was born in 1971, graduated from Liberty University, and earned a Juris Doctorate with honors at Florida State University College of Law. She worked as an attorney in Tampa, then moved into television news in Tampa, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, where she anchored the evening news. She was also Miss Virginia in 1990 and Miss Florida in 1995. In her words:

"I’d always had a news bug. I just wasn’t sure how I would ever make a career out of it. My husband, Sheldon, and I really spent a year in intense prayer and discussion about the move and sought counsel from people we trusted. I’m a firm believer that the Lord gives us passions that He has equipped us to pursue and plants that seed in our hearts. I came here and started what really is for me a dream job."

Carlton Mappin ~ I must say I agree with you. I guess those folks are on to make it fair and balanced. I like the lineup you say are the best people, especially Dobbs, Varney, and Carlson. I met Hannity and Ingraham before.

Thanks for reading my article and leaving your comments.

Carlton Mappin on November 03, 2019:

Fox anti Trumpers: Neil Cavuto, Charlie Assperino, Leland Vitters, Juan Williams! They need to GO! Also, Why does Fox continue to employ the Obama crowd? Jessica Tarkovsky, Marie Harf and Donna Brazil. We always mute the TV when those dreadful fakes are on!!

Best people are: Lou Dobbs, Stu Varney and Co, Tucker Carlson, Harris Faulkner, Fox & Friends, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on November 01, 2019:

Louis E. Bosse ~ Thank you very much for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate your comments. I believe he is playing the Devil's Advocate. I sure hope so.

Louis E. Bosse on October 30, 2019:

Is Juan Williams playing "devil's advocate " all the time or is he really that ignorant ? His viewpoint on most issues are so stupid I mute the voice when he's on !! Whoever is responsible for hiring this YOYO should be fired along with Juan !!!

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on October 19, 2019:

chicha ~ Yes, I would say that is true.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on October 19, 2019:

Betty Boop ~ I hear ya. She does indeed have an irritating voice. Thank you very much for visiting my page.

chicha on October 17, 2019:

A good counsel (advice) has no price.

Betty Boop on October 15, 2019:

JessicaTarlov....PLEASE get this girl a voice coach! Her nasal whiney voice is a major annoyance. So irritating that we mute the sound and rely on closed caption when she speaks

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on September 12, 2019:

Chica ~ I appreciate your thoughtful insights.

chicha on September 12, 2019:

True friendship is based on a mutual trust that admits neither reserve nor exception. A mended friendship is hardly straightforward.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on September 09, 2019:

You made a very good choice there, Jim. I need to write about her. Thanks for reading my work.

Shannon Bream ~ It is a distinct pleasure to hear from you! I call you Bream the Dream.

Shannon bream on July 31, 2019:

I think she is a beautiful woman. However her new longer hair style is not becoming to her youthful persona. It has added 10 years to her TV appearance.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on July 30, 2019:

Johnny Weaver ~ I guess 'fair and balanced' must include leftist's views. At least that way we know what they are thinking.

Thank you for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate your comments.

Johnny Weaver on July 27, 2019:

Arthel Neville is one of the most biased anti trump that you have please take her off I can turn to CNN or MSNBC if I wanted to hear that

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on June 02, 2019:

Anastacia Parfan ~ I am thinking that was Arthel Neville. I did not see the program to which you refer.

Anastacia parfan on June 01, 2019:

Bob Benzing ~ Thank you for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate your comments as well. I did not watch Fox News yesterday so I missed the segment to which you refer. It does not sound good. I pulled up the photograph of Gillian Turner and she looks vaguely familiar. I am sorry to hear she misbehaved on national television.

Bob Benzing on April 20, 2019:

Just finished watching Fox News (11am on 4/20/19) and was applaud at the new person Gillian Turner and her nasty comments to a government official. For the moment I thought I was watching CNN! We love to watch Fox News but rude comments to this gentleman showed a lack of respect. Obviously she has a D behind her name. Guess we will have to change channels on Saturday mornings. We have a nice community in Diamondhead Ms. about 7,000 people. Many of this community are shocked to hearthese rude comments. Fox News should be able to do better on weekends!

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 08, 2019:

Chicha ~ Amen! Well said.

chicha on April 08, 2019:

A B Williams ~ You are quite welcome. I am glad you are not in Facebook Jail. Under surveillance? Probably. :-)

James

Angie B Williams from Central Florida, USA on April 04, 2019:

Interesting...good advice James!

Thanks for the info., I am not in FB jail then, I haven't received any notifications or anything like that. Under surveillance? Scrutinized? Definitely.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 04, 2019:

Marco A Castillo ~ If you don't get help from Charter, get help somewhere. ;)

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on March 29, 2019:

A B Williams ~ When I was imprisoned by Facebook they did notify me, yes. They told me I had violated community standards and would not be able to post, comment, 'like' anything, or use private messenger for X amount of days (30 the most recent time).

Angie B Williams from Central Florida, USA on March 29, 2019:

I have a question for those of you currently in Facebook jail or that have done some time there, do you know when you are in FB jail, is there a notice/warning? I haven't received anything like that, but feel as if I am in solitary confinement on FB....no visitors! I am not feeling the love!

P.S. I love the ladies of Fox News, James.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on March 29, 2019:

chica ~ Thank you for sharing your profound philosophy with me.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on March 25, 2019:

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on February 12, 2019:

Wesman Todd ~ You are quite welcome. I feel your pain. I am in Facebook Jail right now for 30 days. I did not know the word 'tranny' was hate speech.

Kathleen Cochran from Atlanta, Georgia on November 09, 2018:

"Fox does have a considerable number of women who graduated law school." . . . and were in beauty pageants. What conservative women.

Patrick Williams on August 13, 2018:

Fox really hurt themselves by keeping Laura Ingraham. She is making IT Impossible for a guest to speak. She talks over all of them. Put Shanon or Bill O’Reilly in her spot.

Wesman Todd Shaw from Kaufman, Texas on May 28, 2018:

Thanks for this. I will totally promote your article just as soon as one of my 3 jailed Facebook accounts comes out of the hoosegow.

Sure beats everything MSNBC and CNN could ever throw together, and these women are far more intelligent too, as they are not leftists.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on May 28, 2018:

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on May 28, 2018:

Missy ~ I know. It is amazing how much better looking conservative women are compared to 'progressives.' I think it does say something important, something about how miserable your average progressive woman is, perhaps mad at the world for feeling shortchanged by mother nature?

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on May 28, 2018:

James J. Doodah~ Thank you very much for reading my article. I must confess I had noticed Shannon being untoward to anyone. I will have to watch closer.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on May 28, 2018:

Lori ~ GOOD NEWS! Megyn Kelly is long gone.

Brett Myrum on April 17, 2018:

The man who threatened Stormy Daniels is a dead ringer for William Defoe! Is there a reward for his capture and/or conviction?

Southern Jameson West on November 07, 2017:

great!

thanks kindly

Timothy K. Toroian on June 11, 2017:

What more can one ask for, she was a beauty contest winner in 2 states and graduated law school with honors. Intelligent women are the best. Fox does have a considerable number of women who graduated law school.

Missy on April 12, 2017:

IT would actually seem that these presentations/appearences should be in some order of COMPETENCE. ....However, as usual, it seems to be in order ( all anchor and "host" rankings) of perceived "sex appeal". SO...whats new other than how trivial we have become?

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on January 28, 2013:

Neil Harrington--- I am glad that we are in perfect agreeance about "Bream the Dream." :-)

Drop-dead gorgeous, yes. Great presence and personality, yes. Finest television reporter ever? YES!!!

(Shades of Marv Albert!)

As you said so succinctly, Shannon Bream is "the complete master of her craft. She simply dazzles."

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my article. I appreciate your fine correspondence.

James

Neil Harrington on January 26, 2013:

James, I could not agree with you more about Shannon Bream. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous with a great presence and personality, but she is probably the finest TV reporter/interviewer I have ever seen. She's articulate, knowledgeable, always thoroughly prepared, never interrupts her guests except when absolutely necessary (O'Reilly, take notice) and in short is just the complete master of her craft. She simply dazzles.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on December 29, 2012:

Harvey— Thank you!! Thank you very much! :D

(That's all I'm going to say about that.)

Happy New Year!

UMA PEMMARAJU; her chest appears real enough and probably all displayed for affect as well as effect. I am not so certain that the same can be said about her teeth.

Indeed. And this is why, my friend, I dub thee, from this day forth, "Saint James". :0)

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on February 25, 2012:

CJ Sledgehammer— I don't know what that was but I got rid of it. I have no interest in anything sinister. I have no use for stargazers, soothsayers, spellcasters, crystal ball gazers, palm readers, tarot cards, ouija boards, diviners, black magic, voodoo dolls, seances, astrology, fortune telling, ghostbusters, tattoos, or piercings. :D

Thank you for reading my article on the Women of Fox News.

CJ Sledgehammer on February 24, 2012:

James, off topic a bit, but what in God's green earth are "rita" and "marriane" talking about? What is "spell casting"? I know you worship at Temple Tebow, but are you into something even more sinister? :0)

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on February 23, 2012:

Cat Hemingway— Thank you very much for taking the time to read my article on the Women of Fox News. I appreciate your outstanding remarks.

You are not the first to notice the dress and latest antics of Kimberly Guilfoyle. But you said the funniest things!

". . . known for being a social mountaineer. Never attempt to get between her and a camera -- you will suffer broken bones!"

Ha! You are quite the wit. Thanks again for offering us your point of view.

James :-)
