Christmas is a big day to a lot of people around the universe. Traditionally most people view Christmas holidays as a time to spend with close family bonding and having fun. On book Christmas is a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ but in theory most people don't even think of Jesus Christ during that holiday. To most people Christmas has become a way just to celebrate life, going out, throwing parties, drinking and many other ways people deem necessary. Christmas holiday also provide people with plenty of time to be home and watch more TV so I created this list of 5 best movies about Christmas holiday.
5. Surviving Christmas (2004)
The movie is about a wealthy Chicago man named Drew Lathan who has been avoiding his family for a long time. Drew finds himself between a rock and a hard place when his Christmas vacation plans with his girlfriend Missy Vangilder falls through which also lead to the breakup of their relationship. Drew could not stand spending Christmas alone so he goes to his parents old house to try and relive all his childhood Christmas memories but the problem is the house is now being owned by Tom Valco and his family. The Valcos have their own personal problems so the thing they dont want is to deal with an uninvited guest. Tom Valco throws Drew away but he changes his mind when Drew offers to pay them a lot of money if they agree to spend Christmas with them. The two parts agree to a contract which ends on the Christmas night. Through all this drama Drew is able to find himself and he is able to realize the importance of having family and friends close.

4. Holiday Rush (2019)
Holiday Rush is a Netflix original about a very talented radio DJ Rashon 'Rush' Williams who recently lost his wife and is raising his four children as a single father. DJ Rush has been able to provide his kids with everything they need which makes them kind of spoilt. Trouble begins when DJ Rush is fired from the radio station with immediate effect. While he is going through that, his spoilt kids do not understand the situation very well so they create their expensive gifts list as usually. It gets even worse when he has to sell his house to buy a small scale community radio station and the kids are finding it hard to adjust to the poor neighbourhood. In the end Rush finds new love and the kids realize that having each other is more important than all those expensive gifts.

3. Almost Christmas
Almost Christmas is a star studded Christmas comedy drama directed by David E. Talbert. The movie is based on a old man Walter Mayer who recently lost the love of his life so to avoid spending Christmas alone, he invites his grown children and their families to spend just five days in the house they grew up in. Deep down Walter knows that it will take a miracle for all his children to live peacefully in one roof for five days. His fears tend to be true as old rivalries are being ignited amongst his children, the children also seems to have grown apart which causes constant friction in the house. Through all the drama the family finally bonds and they all realise that our purpose in life is to help others and if you cant help them don't hurt them.

Omar Epps and Nadej Kyla Bailey also played siblings on the 2014 series called Resurrection which makes them one of the few actors who have played siblings in two different movies which are not spinoffs.
2. A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish (2019)
Its a romantic fantasy about Kat Decker who has a passion for music but could really use a Christmas miracle because her evil step mother and step sisters are always on the lookout for ways to kill her dreams and see her suffer. After being treated like a servant at home Kat is forced into a demoralizing job as a singing elf at a Santa Land owned by billionaire Terrence Wintergarden. In the middle of her sorrows Kat meets a handsome guy who is working as Santa at that same Santa Land.

1. Alvin and the chipmunks
Three musically talented chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore, are busy storing food for winter but their tree is cut down and sent to the city of Los Angeles. Where they meet a struggling songwriter David Seville. Despite the chaos at the beginning of their stay together with David, they impress him with their singing talent. David seizes the opportunity by making an agreement with the Chipmunks to sing his songs. After some ups and downs both David and the Chipmunks end up realising their dreams by getting a music contract with a big record label, but however success comes with its fair problems.

David Seville was a stage name of Ross Bagdasarian, and his son was originally supposed to portray the character in the film. He took the name "Seville" from the area in Spain, where he had done military service
