Fruits Basket 2nd Season

Fruits Basket 2nd Season

1. Fruits Basket 2nd Season

Fruits Basket's 2nd season is a remarkable continuation of the 1st season. I believe it’s way more interesting than its previous half.

They are animating every piece from the manga which wasn’t the same in the original piece. The style is unique and they are experimenting with it, which is equally great. The story has turned mysterious and every bit of suspense is worth waiting for.

All the characters are well-defined, they have their own plots that make them feel equally special. If you need an anime that gives you all fun, mystery, comedy, and emotions then look nowhere else.

It’s tough to decide who’d be my favorite characters as each one of their stories touch your heart and you can relate to all of them. With the introduction of more characters like Isuzu Sohma, who is a horse, Kureno Sohma, a rooster, and many others, the plot has become more intriguing.

I must say the Fruits Basket cover is quite deceptive. It makes you feel it just another Shojo anime, but it’s not. It offers you a distinguishable plot, its story is one among millions along with believable introspections. Despite its supernatural elements, the anime deals with people’s daily lives and how they struggle to come to the right decision, which correctly applies to real life.

The characters have to face ordeals and go through unavoidable circumstances that lead them into darkness but eventually also help them see the sunlight. They are looking for freedom from the zodiac curse, which they aren’t certain, could ever happen. They still fight for it, especially Isuzu Sohma, who had a troublesome relationship with her parents and they ditched her because of her curse. She wants to make everything right by fighting a cure to the curse, whether it’s herself, her love, or her family, she itches to bring balance in everything.

The main storyline revolves around Tohru, who was orphaned at a young age. She finds shelter in the Sohma family. Twelve of whom are the victims of the zodiac curse such that they can transform into the zodiac animals due to the climatic conditions or when they are hugged by the opposite sex. Tohru learns their secret on the very first day of her arrival into the home.

Each of the zodiacs cursed Sohma has their own sufferings and grievances that they have gone through because of the curse. They have emotional setbacks and each of them is struggling to make peace with it along with Kyo Sohma. Kyo is an outcast who is cursed by a cat, which is not a part of the zodiac spirits.

Fruits Basket is a story of hope, it shows there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. You may need to follow a difficult path in the beginning, but if you give it all, then happiness awaits you at the end.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T (A Certain Scientific Railgun T)

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T (A Certain Scientific Railgun T)

2. Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T (A Certain Scientific Railgun T)

Before this anime surfaced in 2020, I was already a huge fan since its manga came into the market in 2007. I wasn’t just excited but crazy to the top to hear it’s continuing the anime after a long break. I wouldn’t lie I was a little uncertain too about its popularity after the Index III, but it all dried away thanks to its perfect art and amazing direction. Railgun T has exceeded my expectations and is a perfect successor to Railgun and Railgun S, which concluded in the year 2013.

Misaka Mikoto, the electric “Tsundere” is back with her gang, commencing with the Daihasei festival. As the customs go, Misaka offers a solid entry in the first episode, Shirai is a normal pervert like always, Uiharu is a “techy” one with severe judgement, and Saten is the same old sucker for her academy city conspiracy theories. Nothing has been shifted and that’s why it actually works.

With characters in their original selves along with superior voice acting and animation styles, Railgun T truly stands out. Honorably mentioning Sogiita Gunha, who is the icing on the cake. He is prepared to shake the entire Academy City with his intellect.

The most fascinating of all is the Daihaseiai arc. The characters' emotions are spot on and their motivations are deeply intriguing. Not to forget to mention, the hype around the level 6 shift is remarkably delivered followed by an equally remarkable battle.

The anime adaptation is pretty loyal to the source material, which means you are going to thoroughly enjoy it. You don’t need to be familiar with the previous series to barge on this one, it is whole by itself.

The series starts with the Daihasei Festival. The students from prestigious Tokiwadai Middle School, known for the all-girls academy, are sure to participate. Due to the participation of the “Ace of Tokiwadai”, the winner is already predicted yet Mikoto Misaka and other students are ready to give their all to change the forecast.

In this world, everything is not fun and games. Because of the festival, Academy City is open to everyone and various infamous factions are already plotting evil plans to attack the city. As the celebration progresses, people from the shadows begin to turn up.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T gives a huge boost to the already famous Tokiwadai Ace and her companions as they go deep into the grim side of the Academy City. Whether it’s terrorism or brutal underground projects, everything is possible in this city.

Fugou Keiji: Balance: Unlimited (The Millionaire Detective – Balance: UNLIMITED)

3. Fugou Keiji: Balance: Unlimited (The Millionaire Detective – Balance: UNLIMITED)

I have to say this series offers a pretty unique experience and is incomparable with other anime whatsoever. You watched the first episode and now, you won’t stop till you slide to the last, yes I can certainly promise you that. The series begins with the main characters busy solving individual cases that smoothen the plot and later it delves into the main idea. The instant turn on is Daisuke and the entire theme of the Balance Unlimited. I can tirelessly watch him throw money around, all the time, to get rid of the problems. His smug smile makes it hard to detest this guy.

The anime first few episodes are well-written and well-received. My eyes remain glued to Daisuke as his personality is so adorable and certainly beyond perfection. Though the later part slows down a bit, the characters won’t let you switch till the very end. Don’t lower down your hopes, I watched the complete series in a day and I am definitely impressed. The idea of Daisuke being a wealthy man hailing from a wealthy family is pretty cool, then he becomes a detective with Kato. You may say, now onwards it kind of gets boring as you can predict what happens next, so it isn’t that thrilling after all. But you have to admit plot and art style deserve appreciation. Moreover, the characters are relatable to real life. It could offer more, but it’s worth a one-time watch, even two if you can’t find its alternative.

Daisuke Kanbe is overflowing with extraordinary wealth. He is later assigned as a detective to the Modern Crime Prevention Headquarters. He finds Haru Katou as his new partner, who is himself a detective and values justice above all. They are polar opposites and thus, have clashes now and then. Haru hates Daisuke for using his money power to solve the cases as he contempts money to be the true power. No matter what, they have to combine their efforts and solve the complex mysteries coming forth.

Ahiru no Sora (Sora the Duck)

Ahiru no Sora (Sora the Duck)

4. Ahiru no Sora (Sora the Duck)

Ahiru no Sora is going to stuck in my top 10 list for a long time now. I wonder what’s there to hate in this one. The story and characters are at par excellence, not to forget to mention its art style is quite outstanding as well. Each character is lovable and their friends are someone that everyone may dream to have. The cast is as compelling as One Piece, Naruto, and Attack on Titan.

Some may complain about its traditional art style, but everyone has their own tastes, I can’t debate over that. Overall it’s one of my favorites, after all, story and characters rule over everything else. If you are missing it because of the art style, then I can bet you, you are ditching a masterpiece.

The anime is based on a sports theme, primarily focusing on basketball. Sora Kurumatani is a devotee of basketball, but because of his short stature, he can’t pull it through. Despite missing this crucial aspect, his determination hasn’t wavered even a bit. He believes in himself and works way too hard to prove his capability at all costs.

To fulfill his mother’s wishes, he enrolls into Kuzuryuu High School to join the basketball club. He competes with all his might in the tournaments. However, he is deeply disappointed to find that his team members are merely punks and have no real passion for the sport. He also meets brothers Chiaki and Momoharu Hanazono and learns that they have lost their motivation to play a long time ago.

But no matter what, Sora is determined and no one is coming his way. To revive the basketball team, he challenges his team members to play a match against him. He instantly overwhelms the group with his swift movements and quick feet. Over time, the members are inside out influenced by his athletic skills, sheer efforts, and unweary devotion to the sport. As a result, they surprisingly discover their burnt-out passion rekindling one more time.

Appare-Ranman! (Appare in Full Bloom!)

Appare-Ranman! (Appare in Full Bloom!)

5. Appare-Ranman! (Appare in Full Bloom!)

Have you ever watched an anime that gives you the vibes of Fast and Furious? Yes or no, Appare-Ranman! is here to fulfill the duty. It’s not exclusively about cars and hot girls, but indeed a steampunk that will remind you of the action movie time-to-time. It’s in its peculiarity which makes it highly interesting as the main cast consists of a samurai and a socially-awkward inventor. The inventor is a 19-year-old genius who dreams of nothing but building machinery. His inventions include steamboats and other related discoveries which are not well-received by the people as these are the things of the past.

Despite the lack of support, he is determined and decides to embark on an adventure to prove himself as a noteworthy creator. To do so, he has to join a race competition along with his comrades. Interestingly, the race isn’t a regular one, it’s a life and death battle and all of the participants have their own solid reasons to win it irrespective of the costs.

The animation is pretty awesome, in fact, its manga is well-made too. The character designs are unique and given much thought, which truly makes the scenery stand out. Coming to the sound, the music is appropriately used at the right moments and for the right situations. It’s tough to pick one character among all as each of them does perfect justice to their role. Though the anime has merely 13 episodes, it has done a wondrous job in fitting in the worth-watching story. The character development is astonishing and overall I am in love with the show.

Appare Sorsano aims for big and there’s no stopping for him. He is an inventor who lives far away from the city life in a rural town during the late 19th century. Since his childhood, he is passionate about the creation of steamships that take people across the globe. He used varied scientific texts to make his own machine and fulfill his dream of traveling across the sea and beyond the moon.

Due to the uncertain series of events, he finds himself stranded in the middle of the sea along with a cowardly samurai, Kosame Ishikki. Luckily a large ship arrives and takes them to Los Angeles. With no money to survive, he decides to take part in a race that promises the winner a huge cash prize. Certainly, the race isn’t a piece of cake and the duo is oblivious to the new place. How will they survive and will Appare manage to prove his worth when the only friend he has is an eccentric samurai?
