My Introduction To Margo
I discovered Margo Harshman a few years ago wheile watching the surprisingly enjoyable Fired Up! which I only wanted to see because Sarah Roemer was in it. But the movie was actually very entertaining, partly because it was funny, but also because it featured several gorgeous ladies in cheerleader outfits including both Sarah and Margo as well as AnnaLynne McCord and Smith Cho. What more could you ask for?
But by far, it was Margo that impressed me most about this film. After the movie, I was checking the Web for more on this beautiful, talented actress. What I learned is she is more than just an actress. She is also a musician and a surfer. Margo plays guitar, piano and bass guitar and writes her own songs. And Margo's star is definitely on the rise, recently even being added as a recurring character on the popular show NCIS.
Just The Facts, Ma'am
Margo was born March 4, 1986 in San Diego, CA and lived until age 12 in La Costa, CA. She began her life on stage in beauty pageants at the ripe old age of 2. By age 5 she had learned to play piano and began acting at age 8. Her first major role was as Tawny Dean on the television show Even Stevens which co-starred Shia LeBeouf, whom she also dated for six months. In the early half of the decade, Margo worked mainly on television series and movies, but in 2006, Margo starred in the horror film Simon Says with Crispin Glover.
Since that time, Margo has appeared in several notable fright flicks including Rise with Lucy Liu, From Within with Elizabeth Rice and Thomas Dekker, and Sorority Row with Leah Pipes and Audrina Partridge. She has also proven her comedic talents in films such as College Road Trip, Legacy and Fired Up! But television watchers have still had plenty of opportunity to enjoy Margo's talents with recurring roles on The Big Bang Theory and her current stint on the aforementioned NCIS where she plays Tim McGee's love interest, Department of Defense employee Delilah Fielding.
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream... MARGO!
Though my first exposure to Margo was her role in the comedy, Fired Up!, I quickly found myself drawn to her performances as a scream queen. Her depiction of Sadie in From Within is outstanding and adds a whole new depth to the movie that would have been missing with a lesser actress. Her character gives the movie its (admittedly black) heart and drives the action when it would otherwise have nowhere to go.
Another amazing role filled by Margo is Kate in Simon Says. Her damsel-in-distress-turned-butt-kicking-heroine turn in the film is a standout portrayal and really shows her chops as a horror movie actress. Of course, it doesn't hurt that she spends a lot of the film running around in a bikini top and shorts!
In the adorably cheesy slasher flick Sorority Row, Margo portrays Chugs,a sexually promiscuous alcoholic co-ed. Chugs is the life of the party and the queen of the death scenes with one of the most memorable screen demises seen in some time. Sorority Row has actually ended up in my top five favorite slashers of all time, mainly due to Chugs.

She was the girl from Even Stevens with Shia Labeouf. I just loved that series. It's the best thing that came out of Disney Channel imo. And I agree she's brilliant, underneath the horror movies she has great comedic chops. Sorority Row just might be the one that will give her 'the big break' because its got both for her in it. I wish her the best.
