What is the Girl Group French Kiss?

Author’s note: this will be the start of describing the career of AKB48 sub-unit French Kiss. The group is no longer active having disbanded in 2015 but their influence is still significant and you are about to see why.

Of course, the idol group "French Kiss" had more than just Aki Takajo who is one of my favorite girls of the famous group AKB48 but it also had Yuki Kashiwagi & Asuka Kuramochi.

"French Kiss" Was Formed Also Because of the Influence of Yasushi Akimoto

French Kiss would not have been possible without the creative mind of AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto and he has made the correct choice to have a group of girls like this! The origins of the group French Kiss date back to June 28, 2010 when Yuki Kashiwagi made this announcement.

French Kiss Holds a Special LIVE Concert at a Famous Music Venue

The AKB48 sub unit French Kiss held their first live concert at Zepp Tokyo. The concert took place on October 22, 2014. The group was on a bit of a hiatus due to their busy schedules. But they resumed their activities and made a return. On October 1, 2014, the group released a then new single called “Omoidasenai Hana.” Their last single was released 2 years and three months before. Kashiwagi is known as an “ameonna” or a woman whose mere presence brings rain. Since the group was formed, they have experienced rainfall during many of their events. It did rain on the night of that concert. Kuramochi was convinced that Kashiwagi’s presence brings rain whenever she is involved with the group. Takajo, then 23, laughed and said “Yukirin has brought out her power!” Kashiwagi who was said to be defiant said: “Rainy days are good days.” On October 22, 2014, French Kiss sang 18 songs for an audience of 1,000 people.

French Kiss Disbands In 2015

Their last studio album would be called French Kiss and it would be released on October 14, 2015. French Kiss held their last concert on November 5, 2014 at the Saitama Super Arena. I guess there just comes a time when some groups decide to call it quits. The three members of French Kiss had been busy in AKB48 as well as their individual careers and the busy schedules just became too much to handle.

One Interesting Fact About the Girls of "French Kiss"

The group has also made an appearance in the Holiday Trip Edition of French Kiss Magazine back in 2012. The girls were seen displaying their bikini bodies and they are really gorgeous!
