Veronica Harrington, played by Angela Robinson, on Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots doesn't do anything without a reason. Usually, the reason is a bad one where she hurts someone. What she has just done on the recent episode of the series is causing fans to gasp.

The series of events that led Veronica to hire a maid was started when her ex-husband David threatened to kill her. He has threatened her many times before, but Veronica always got the upper hand. David turned over evidence against Veronica to George, the district attorney. George went to Veronica's house and told her what David had done.

Veronica always has an ace up her sleeve and she began to play it by calling an agency for a maid. A dozen or so candidates showed up and Veronica dismissed them as they came forward. She looked at them and made negative comments about them before quickly sending them away through the back door.

The negative comments included her saying, "She looks like she steals" and "I don't want no greasy maid." Veronica snapped at the agent and asked, "Don't you have anyone who looks like me?"

A young girl was running late because she was coming from another job. Veronica took one look at her and hired her because she looked somewhat like her.

Who Is Laura?

Laura plays a new part on The Haves and the Have Nots. She was hired by Veronica Harrington to be a maid. However, she is being set up to be more than just a maid. The part of Laura is played by Cameo Sherrell, a 33-year-old actress and producer.

Laura was introduced on the series during the penultimate episode for the season on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. That means it is next to the last episode before the series takes a mid-season break. Laura will appear in a total of eight episodes.

Tyler Perry must have forgotten that he had another character named Laura. The previous Laura was one of Wyatt's girlfriends way back in Season 1 in 2013 when Wyatt was sober enough to have a girlfriend.

Proof Veronica Is Setting Laura Up to Be Her Double

A lot of fans missed why Veronica was hiring "someone who looked like her." Some viewers didn't miss what was happening, and they spoke out about it on social media and during personal conversations.

After Veronica hired Laura, she was extra nice to her. One person tweeted that Veronica is never nice to someone for no reason. Another person might have hit the nail on the head when he said Veronica wants a body double.

It all adds up. Veronica gives Laura new clothes with tags still on them to throw away. Veronica sensed that Laura wanted them for herself. Therefore, she gives her the clothes included shoes that were too big, but Veronica insisted that the new maid should wear them to work every day. When Laura tells Veronica she has a driver's license but no car, Veronica said Laura would have to take her car to the car wash sometimes.

Veronica is making sure Laura is seen in public wearing her clothes and shoes and driving her car. When David and Jim's people come after Veronica, they will see Laura and think she is Veronica. Unfortunately, they will kill her instead.

Don't think this will happen anytime soon. Cameo Sherrell will star in eight episodes. They might not be consecutive ones. Tyler Perry is known for dragging out stories over many episodes and ever seasons.

Not the First Time

This is not the first time Veronica has schemed for someone to be killed instead of herself. Back in Season 4, Veronica tricked Maggie Day into walking through her front door at the time gunmen were waiting inside the house for Veronica to be the one to go inside.

Maggie was killed in the gunfire while Veronica waited outside and smiled. She had accused David of sleeping with Maggie Day, but he never did.

Mid-Season Finale

Watch the finale for the mid-season on Tuesday, March 10 on OWN to see what will happen with Laura, Veronica, Jim, Hanna, Candace, Benny, Katherine, Wyatt, Jeffrey, Justin, and David.
