The Era of Degeneracy Has Begun - All thanks to Tik-Tok

What we are about to see is the dark side of TikTok.
For example, the challenge that went viral last the year with people recording themselves licking toilet seats to prove they were immune to the virus. If you infect one person, that loses their life. Is it worth it for you to have this attention? This is TikTok and it's so outrageous, it initially allowed an autism challenge to go viral. When did it become socially acceptable for us to make fun of different disabled people or literally, risk your life for a trend? The skull breaker challenge and its spreading on social media, has been leaving kids with serious injury and even killed a 16-year-old girl.

Another TikTok challenge that electrocuted many people is here to add to the app's incompetence. The new social media challenge, but maybe the biggest reason I dislike TikTok, is what it does to our youth; it connects the worst of today's pop culture and places it directly in front of children. Consider the WAP challenge: the explicit music sparked a viral dance challenge featuring provocative steps, and several minors who participated ended up with their videos in the wrong hands and on adult websites.

Let me reiterate myself amid all the social media out there. TikTok is certainly the go-to spot for paedophiles because there are millions of children here seeking to follow sexually suggestive patterns, while others practise self-dentistry by filing their teeth with nail files to get straight smiles. Since my teeth aren't fine, I'm going to file them down with a nail file; this TikTok movement has been so common, guys, that it's actually working. The actual dentist has to put a stop to that because it is the very worst thing a human can do, and it is just what this app does by giving the most idiotic ideas a viral spotlight. People often say that you are what you eat, and while this is true, it is also true of videos. You are what you see. TikTok is like poor food in that, to put it bluntly, it just makes the planet dumber.

There is decent material on TikTok as well, and some users also use it for good causes and to have a positive impression on people's lives, but the fact is that you have to search deep to find its real meaning. So, to answer the question of why I'm not on TikTok once and for all, TikTok is a forum that is clearly negative to our society. And although it is illegal in India, other websites or applications with a similar formula and theme are gaining popularity. We must be mindful about what we use social media for because, much as with food, if you are what you eat, then with TikTok we are feeding ourselves and, more specifically, our next generation with pure garbage.

People would go to great lengths to create the ideal Instagram or TikTok material. The absurd poses we strike, the chances we take, and the profound narcissism that we somehow encourage. Today's American celebrity is when people TikTok in a car after an accident and the hashtag goes viral. Some do sexy photoshoots at anti-racism rallies, while others are extremely artistic to get the perfect image. This is an American celebrity, with all of the glory and criticism in a world where narcissism is rewarded. People obstruct subways and aeroplanes.

I know because I've been there, so most of us can only hope to one day hit this stage. When you look at our world from the outside, it's much easier to see how narcissistic it has become; just look at what social media has done to us. No matter our age or gender, narcissism has become second nature. We are becoming more self-absorbed, and celebrities only serve to amplify this trend. Celebrities strive to look flawless all of the time, sharing just perfect pictures, and the public admires them for it. Many of these people have millions of followers for what? Where do we draw the line between rewarding narcissism and rewarding narcissism? I'm aware that I can come off as arrogant at times. I'm not a huge fan of pointing fingers, but sometimes the best way to make us understand our troubling truth is to reveal its true face, because right now, without a doubt, we are the most arrogant generation that has ever existed.

We need to avoid being so arrogant because narcissists make perfection seem so natural. Good has become insufficient, and I can only foresee the effect on our next generation if we do not avoid rewarding narcissism. This is American fame, all of the acclaim, all of what I feel. Prepare for an inhumane and bumpy journey ahead.
