Trent Carlini ~ The Closest You Get to Seeing Elvis in Las Vegas

As Good As It Gets....

Probably the closest imitation you will find today of Elvis is found here in Las Vegas, in the LVH Hotel, in their "Shimmer Showroom". The show is called "The King Starring Trent Carlini". This used to be the Las Vegas Hilton hotel, but due to losing their affiliation with the Hilton corporation, the hotel is now called LVH.

Back in the 1970s, this is the hotel Elvis was playing in, where he sold out 837 shows in a row, playing to a record breaking 2.5 million people, a feat that I'm not sure anyone else has been able to do since Elvis did it. Back then, the hotel was known as the "International," and Elvis played the showroom in that hotel from 1969 until 1976. If you want to have a REAL and amazing Las Vegas experience, one that includes a show by "Elvis," Trent Carlini is not to be missed.

This guy is absolutely AMAZING, looks VERY much like Elvis, and sounds like him. The night we saw him, it took a little while for the audience to really get into it, but once they did, watch out! Ladies were lining up at the stage to get one of the scarves Elvis... I mean TRENT was tossing out. They were screaming like I would imagine they did for Elvis "back in the day." And of course, Trent was happy to see them screaming. Like any entertainer, most entertainers love it when the crowd is with them and really enjoying and getting into their performance, it energizes them and makes them perform even better.

Such was the case at the Shimmer Showroom at LVH. Starting out the show with the early years of Elvis, when he was in the Army, Trent came out dressed in a uniform and sang some of the earlier tunes. He then went in progression to the years when Elvis starred in a lot of movies, to the times when he wore those all black leather jumpsuits... to the white suit and red satin shirt years, to the "aloha" years of Blue Hawaii. Every performance was stellar and riveting.

Trent's uncanny similarity to Elvis cannot be denied. His mannerisms, certain ways he smiles, to the sound of his voice, one feels as if they are transported back in time. Back to a more innocent time... back to the beginning of rock 'n roll. Towards the end of the show when he was performing in the white rhinestone jumpsuit, ladies lined the stage trying to get one of his scarves tossed casually to them... and you would almost believe you are AT an Elvis concert!

Trying to remind myself that this is an Elvis "stylist" and not the real thing was hard to do at times, I almost went up to the stage to get one of those scarves, that's how convincing Trent Carlini is as Elvis.

"Elvis" is indeed... back in the building.

Be Sure To Go See Trent When You're In Las Vegas, You'll Be Glad You Did!

An award winning entertainer, Trent Carlini very well could be the closest thing you can find today to being able to see "Elvis" the way he was back in the 1960s and 1970s.

In 1990, Trent was the winner in a star search like contest done by Global Records in Dallas, Texas. He won the "Entertainer With The Most King-Like Charisma." From there he flew to Las Vegas where he performed in a tribute show until 1996.

Winning another award in 2007, Trent was chosen as the winner in an ABC television reality competition show called "The Next Best Thing" (Who Is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?) Those are impressive awards, but what impresses even more is that 30 years into his career as an Elvis tribute artist - impersonator, he sounds just as good as he ever has, if not better.

And looks? Well, lets just say there was not a person in that room that was NOT smiling from the sheer charisma, terrific dance moves, and stunningly "Elvis-like" performance Trent was putting on.

Trent was born in Chicago. His parents immigrated to the United States from Italy, and he came along seven short years later. He began to love rock 'n roll at the early age of five, and by age 10 was playing guitar.

He attended school in Italy, and during his teen years there, he produced recordings of his own music. An entrepreneur at an early age, in 1987 he came back to the United States and settled in Florida. He played smoky showrooms anywhere that he was able to find a stage, and began to build a very successful career.

Appearing on television shows, and at Elvis tribute shows all across the country, he has even been onstage singing with the Jordannaires (for those that remember, they were the group that sang often with Elvis). Trent has also performed with Elvis' drummer and guitar player. You had to wonder what was going through these guys minds when they were listening to and watching Trent, as he is uncannily very much like Elvis at times.

You can see Trent's own personality shine through, he doesn't totally act like Elvis, but then you don't expect him to. He is paying tribute to Elvis, not trying to be exactly like him. But I'll tell you, I believe he is the closest thing one can find to Elvis today.

Trent has performed shows not only in the United States, but in Spain, France, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, and Italy as well. In Europe, he was given the title "The New King Of The 21st Century." And in spite of all this attention and fame, it seems as if it hasn't really gotten to him.

He still appears to be humble about his talent, and very grateful to the audience for coming to see him, even staying around after the show for a meet and greet. Ladies (and men) were happily having pictures taken with Trent, and letting them know how much they enjoyed the show.

Next time you visit Las Vegas, it is very worthwhile to see if Trent is playing here, find out where, and GO! You will have one of the most enjoyable, thrilling times of your life, and will "Leave the building" with memories to cherish for always.

Trent Passed Away on December 8, 2019

I was shocked to learn that Trent Carlini passed away at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas on Sunday, December 8, 2019. It was reported that he suffered a stroke on Saturday, December 7th, and passed away at 1:00 pm on Sunday. He was 57. RIP Trent. Thank you for the music, the cherished memories and for sharing your talent, along with keeping the music of a true legend - Elvis Presley - alive in Las Vegas for so many years. Fly with the angels ~ "If I Can Dream"... he'll be singing a duet with Elvis.

I'm not sure, AlSilicaniAgent. I just went to see him and enjoyed his performance as an audience member. I don't personally have anything to do with his career or bookings. I would suggest looking on the internet to find the website for him and any contact information that they have listed there for him. Hope that helps! :)
