The Change-Up (2011) review
This movie was ludicrous in a wonderful way. It’s exactly the kind of comedy I like.It doesn’t take itself too seriously and isn’t afraid to be over the top. The script and the way it was executed were both exceptional. This movie provided plenty of heart and warmth along with a couple of life lessons. They took a premise that's been done several times in the past and brought a new and original twist, which to me forgives the use of a played out premise. Most importantly, however - it was hilarious.
The Change-Up (2011) was written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore It was directed by David Dobkin. It stars Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman. The story is about two guys who've been best friends their whole lives. One of them is a bachelor actor who lives a carefree lifestyle, while his friend is a businessman who is married with three kids. They are often envious of each other's lifestyles, until one night they make a wish to switch lives and it actually comes true. Now they have to try and pull off being each other until they can find a way to switch back.
I laughed out loud several times.It was a really funny movie. Reynolds and Bateman did an amazing job portraying each other. There were a couple scenes that were kind of gross and weird for me, but in a movie like this that seems to have no filters, you should expect that and enjoy the ride. The heart of the movie was in the characters, realizing that the grass will always seem greener on the other side, but the truth is that everyone struggles and has problems. You just have to be grateful for what you have.
All in all this is a hilarious movie for adults, not kids. It will gross you out and make you laugh.
