The Eye of the Beholder
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but sometimes beauty is so clearly radiant that one would wonder if there were ever an eye that could miss it. I tried to come up with a list of ten women -- or more specifically ten actresses -- with no restrictions but just could not limit myself to ten. So here we have the ten most beautiful actresses excluding all the gorgeous blondes that were crowding everyone out of my original list. I will do a list of strictly blondes later but may have to make it a Top 15 or maybe 20. For now, just let your eye behold these...
Ah, the one and only Zooey Deschanel! Born in 1980 into a show business family, Zooey has the distinction of being one of the few Hollywood stars who have ventured into the musical world and actually proven she has the stuff to make it there. Her indy rock album with noted singer-songwriter M. Ward has developed a strong following and a second release is highly anticipated. But music stardom has not slowed down Zooey's acting work with recent major films including Yes Man, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Happening while still finding time for independent jewels like The Go-Getter and Gigantic.
You may have read my earlier hub that focused on the lovely Margo Harshman. If so, then you probably realize I am quite taken by this up-and-coming star. Margo recently co-starred in the comedy Fired Up! and will be seen in September co-starring in the horror flick Sorority Row. The California native not only acts but also plays piano, guitar and bass guitar and writes and performs her own music. It is only a matter of time before Margo breaks into the big time, but remember -- you saw her here first!
Lacey Chabert first became a star on the TV series Party of Five but has gone on to complete an impressive list of films. Some of her best include Lost in Space, Not Another Teen Movie, Mean Girls, Black Christmas and most recently Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Lacey, a true Southern belle, starting acting at a young age in around her hometown of Purvis, MS. She ended up doing television commercials and performing on Broadway before landing the part of Claudia Salinger on Party of Five. As Lacey continues to grow as a performer, we should see more and more of her in the years to come!
Beautiful Selma Blair began acting in 1995 but had her breakthrough in 1998's Cruel Intentions. Since then Selma has had a very successful career in films such as Hellboy, Pretty Persuasion and The Fog but has really shined in comedies such as Legally Blond, A Guy Thing, The Sweetest Thing and My Mom's New Boyfriend. Selma also starred in the short-lived American version of the Australian hit comedy Kath & Kim hich managed to develop a dedicated if small following thanks in large part to Selma's outstanding portrayal of Kim.
Jennifer Connelly has probably best been described as sultry from around the time she starred in Labyrinth as a teenager. She is living, breathing hotness on a scale rarely seen. Jennifer began modeling at the young age of 10 and started making movies about four years later. She managed to find time while pursuing her film career to attend Yale and Stanford. After college, her career really took off. Some of her major achievements in movies include Requiem for a Dream, Dark Water, A Beautiful Mind and the atmospheric sci-fi classic Dark City.
Jordana is probably best known for her roles in The Fast & The Furious as well as the recent sequel Fast & Furious and her starring role in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, but my favorite character she has portrayed has to be the wickedly adorable Lucy Diamond in D.E.B.S. Sexy Jordana was born in Panama City, Panama on April 26, 1980 and raised in London, England until she was six years old. After four years spent in her family's native Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jordana moved to Manhattan where she got her start in acting with early roles on the soaps All My Children and As the World Turns.
Valerie Bertinelli became a star growing up on the hit late 70s / early 80s sitcom One Day at a Time playing Barbara Cooper. She started out on the show as a cute teenager and grew into a beautiful woman with America watching. The Wilmington, DE native went on to marry Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen making the guitar virtuoso even more envied by his masses of young male fans. In recent years the couple broke up and Valerie has found new fame as a weight loss and lifestyle guru of sorts.
Best known as "Eve" on the Buffy The Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel, Sarah Thompson has yet to really break out on the big screen. That is not to say she has not had some admirable attempts. Her role in Cruel Intentions 2 was notable and her starring turn in the direct-to-video Brutal also stands out. Born October 25, 1979 in Los Angeles, Sarah did not have far to go to get to Hollywood but hopefully has a long road ahead as her star continues to rise!
There seems to be no type of film Lucy Liu is not well suited for. From action-comedies such as Charlie's Angels and The Cleaner to straight horror like Rise: Blood Hunter and pure action films like Kill Bill: Vol. 1, this China doll can do it all. Other great films Lucy has starred in include Lucky Number Slevin and Domino and she also has a recurring role on the TV series Dirty Sexy Money.A beautiful Asian action star with a great sense of humor... What more could you ask for?
Alyssa Milanois another actress who first broke onto the national stage via a sitcom. In this case, the show was Who's the Boss. But unlike Valerie Bertinelli who maintained a more wholesome list of post-sitcom credits, Alyssa turned to a darker, wilder side with films such as Deadly Sins, Embrace the Vampire and Poison Ivy II with many roles being clothing optional. Alyssa returned twice to the small screen with stints on Melrose Place and Charmed and is still popular on the big screen though more often with clothes on these days. Oh well, it's not a perfect world.

The Fairest One of All Poll
Mathemagician83 on September 29, 2009:
Margo Harshman is hands down the most adorable girl, period.

Fairest one of all poll, SpyderBytes? What isn't FAIR is that I only get to choose ONE! I really thought you were going to include Angelina Jolie and Meagan Fox but liked how you mixed it up a bit and chose so less known stars.
