Synth Single Review: "The Void" by Bycemaster

Bycemaster’s The Void has an ethereally drifting, delicate sensibility which carries listeners on a gliding journey. Metallic clattering opens the track along with broad, wandering synths that are joined by music box chimes playing a delicate pattern. Wriggling, ethereal synth breathes and drums flow smoothly while the oscillating bass moves in an active line.

The wide, warm lead synth sings a melody that’s both mournful and soothing while digital sounding synths add a textured backing and the drums throb. The music flows into a section in which fragile piano-like notes are cut by flaring, writhing synths and floating, lighter sounds.

Diaphanous, open synth again carries the roaming melody with its caressing feeling over the vibrating, angular bass and pulsating drums. The lead melody soars out and light chimes sparkle before the track ends. This is an emotive and expressive track that interweaves layers of sound to create a rich end result.
